Can't wait! Looks great, eric kripke will deliver!

Looks promising!
@Violator: love the Breaking Bad reference; that actor is wonderful on that show, and he's not bad on Once Upon a Time, either.
This might be a good replacement sense they;ve taken Eureka off.
@Flyingcloud scyfy does pretty god with series, they just fail horribly in the movie department
@bryrzarro... did you watch? they said all energy mysteriously dried up.. as in just stoped working all at the same time... even batteries stoped working... cars went dead on the road. A EMP Pulse would potentially fry electronics but not like that.. and that is the closest thing I could think of that would do anything like that.
And that is the point I can't think of a plot device the would do what this show claims and as such needs so serious intial explaining. Otherwise I just don't buy it without some lostesque BS
All right, all right... You all know that this show was the original idea of Eric Kripke creator of Supernatural right? He presented his idea to j.j. abrams who loved his idea and agreed to be a producer on the show. While it seems there maybe some LOST elements I say that very loosely, abrams is just a producer. Kripke is the brains behind the development of this show. Give it a chance before you start calling it a clone of other shows combined into one!
Looks awesome in my opinion. Lead characters seem compelling, great production values (almost looked like a movie) and great ORIGINAL concept. But do I get attached to a series that may get chopped after one season by NBC? May wait out the season, see if it gets picked up and then watch it.
Ah who am I kidding, ill fall in love once again and hope my heart doesnt get broken ;)
I still see people using bows and Muskets for some reason.
If people have figured out how to temper steel... why wouldn't they make repeaters (1850-1860s) Or new ammo for more modern weapons... M16,M4 AR15, hunting rifles... hand guns... none of these need electricity.. but people are building muskets. People still live in Chicago but some how no one is maintaining this buildings or streets.. when did baseball need electricity to play? Rome fell several times Italy fell into almost feudal states and still it's never been taken back by nature. I would expect a world working on rebuilding to a late victorian early edwardian period techlogy wise. If not fully to that level, working quickly on it. Cities would play an important part in that.
Ya chaos might ensue for a little while but not to the levels shown in that clip
See some shows I understand, they make sense, kill off the adult population, have enough destruction and devistation, large amounts of knowledge would be lost, power grids would fail. But in this case anything on a compuer failed .. TV died. Radio... but every machine gun on the planet didn't just stop working... Cars might not start with an electric starter but a mechanic could rig up another method. Unless what ever it is stops things from sparking on top of electricity, meaning no fire.
Just from that "clip"
*Guns reverting to werid points, even though the basic molds and equipment to produce more modern weapons and ammo would still exist.
*Technology in general sitting at a early napoleonic level.
*The Internal Combustion Engine is not electric in and of it self and worked prior to electrical starters
*Plant growth has advanced 25-100 years (entire buildings covered, (see chernobyl for 25 years of unattended growth))
*several hundred year old cities abandoned.
*electricity through chemical process is prevented.. but animals are uneffected. (a battery dosen't work and can't be reproduced, but your nervous system still works) (suspension of disbelief can work for this)
*steam power, and Hydro power can and did power factories for a long long while.
*gov't don't often fall in the way depicted, See Russia, Pakistan, central America, Hati and Afghanistan. (but suspension of disbelief can be used for this)
Two maybe three of these elements and I can live with inside suspended disbelief, but all of these elements? Like I say I will give it a chance.. watch a few episodes, but Producers can mess things up... (Jon Peters and the Giant Spider) and I can not see an acceptable reasoning without some Lost style technobable making this show work they way it's presented. The Computer scene alone requires several issues to be over come. A working phone or cable line, a switiching station or more (all electrically powered over a long distance) or a Satilite uplink, which is the more logical option... but though possible most communication satelites don't have life expectancies greater then 15 years.
Sword play, Archery, and a lack of Mid to Late Victorian technology, suggests a poorly concived plot, if you can't do basic home work to make it feel alive, you aren't going to make sure your story telling is up to snuff.
Sign me up, looks like solid acting and some solid fun. Definitely has that Jeremiah vibe to it, a show that had such potential to be great.
Sorry Plot point. Don't know what a plat is.
