My only concern is that Scott tries so hard to ground it in reality that it ends up loosing the charm of a fun adventure. On a side note who has the bigger bromance:
Martin Scorsese/ Leonardo DiCaprio
OR
Ridley Scott / Russell Crowe

Universal Pictures has unleashed the first teaser trailer for Ridley Scott's Robin Hood. Check it out down below. When the HD version hits online, we'll update this. The action-adventure stars Russell Crowe, Cate Blanchett, William Hurt, Matthew Macfadyen, Mark Strong, Oscar Isaac, Lea Seydoux, Scott Grimes, Kevin Durand, Alan Doyle, Danny Huston and Max von Sydow. Ridley Scott helmed from a story by Ethan Reiff, Cyrus Voris, Brian Helgeland, Paul Webb and Tom Stoppard.
Plot Concept: Russell Crowe stars as the legendary figure known by generations as "Robin Hood," whose exploits have endured in popular mythology and ignited the imagination of those who share his spirit of adventure and righteousness. In 13th century England, Robin and his band of marauders confront corruption in a local village and lead an uprising against the crown that will forever alter the balance of world power. And whether thief or hero, one man from humble beginnings will become an eternal symbol of freedom for his people.
The untitled Robin Hood adventure chronicles the life of an expert archer, previously interested only in self-preservation, from his service in King Richard's army against the French. Upon Richard's death, Robin travels to Nottingham, a town suffering from the corruption of a despotic sheriff and crippling taxation, where he falls for the spirited widow Lady Marion (Oscar winner Cate Blanchett), a woman skeptical of the identity and motivations of this crusader from the forest. Hoping to earn the hand of Maid Marion and salvage the village, Robin assembles a gang whose lethal mercenary skills are matched only by its appetite for life. Together, they begin preying on the indulgent upper class to correct injustices under the sheriff.
With their country weakened from decades of war, embattled from the ineffective rule of the new king and vulnerable to insurgencies from within and threats from afar, Robin and his men heed a call to ever greater adventure. This unlikeliest of heroes and his allies set off to protect their country from slipping into bloody civil war and return glory to England once more.
Robin Hood will hit theaters May 14, 2010.

This doesn't even look better than RH- Men In Tights.
Still crossing my fingers that Scott still has some movie magic in him. He hasn't made anything above mediocre since Black Hawk Down IMO
Cool. IMO, you can't go wrong with a Crowe/Scott collaboration. Especially, when there are swords, horses and fighting involved. And Kingdon of Heaven, the director's cut is actually a pretty damn good movie.
And as far as director/actor bromances go. Hands down, it goes to Scorsese/ DeNiro
Avatar haha heehe "Joker Laugh" screw that movie.
Scott/Crowe are Money ! Looks great and rough. Looks like we will get some of the Crusades backround a bit before Robin Returns home and eventually takes up his fight with the Good Sherrif.
This goes to show ya don't need no stupid hokus pokus and lame cat people/ or gimmicks lol
Looks great to me See ya in the Theatre Robin Hood ! Crowes a freakin Bad Ass!
Clash looks awesome too release the Kraken Bitch ! lol
Looks sick. I'm glad it takes a more serious look at the character. I for one love Prince of Thieves so I don't want to see the same movie. At least this time we'll get a Robin Hood with a proper accent!
Men in Tights will always be my fave. "From this day forth, all the toilets in the kingdom shall be known as... johns!"
"Oh Master Robin, you've lost your arms in battle ... but you grew some nice boobs!" Best line!
The great thing about Robin Hood is you're never really doing a remake. I mean, let's be honest, it is failry hard to screw up the story of Robin Hood, especially as it's been changed so many times over the years. The story is open to interpretation and can be done almost anyway and still maintain the mythos. Now I am partial to Errol Flynn's version, as for me, It's hard to beat Basil Rathbone and Olivia Dehavilland, but I did also enjoy the many other versions of Robin Hood as well. As for the trailer, I think it looks fantastic. I like the grittier feel and certainly enjoy Russel Crowe and Ridley Scott's work.
Well, after seeing that I think it's safe to say that the naysayers can go to hell...
This movie is going to kick ass. It already looks better than any Robin Hood movie ever put out and looks like another Ridley Scott epic masterpiece. I cannot wait. I daresay I'm more excited about this than Avatar. Well, I'm not really excited about Avatar...though I really want to see it. But I am excited to see this. We need more movies set back in those days...or Roman...or Viking and such. And I think with this and that Viking movie we might get our day.
