A few days after a Russian-teaser was leaked online, Columbia Pictures has officially revealed its first teaser trailer for their action-thriller Salt courtesy of Yahoo Movies. Check it in the video player below.
The film stars Angelina Jolie, Liev Schreiber, Chiwetel Ejiofor. Director Phillip Noyce (Patriot Games, Clear and Present Danger) helmed the CIA tale from a screenplay by Kurt Wimmer.
Plot Concept: The story centers on Evelyn Salt (Jolie), a CIA officer who swore an oath to duty, honor, and country. When she is accused by a defector of being a Russian sleeper spy, Salt goes on the run to clear her name and ultimately prove she is a patriot. Using all her skills and years of experience as a covert operative, she must elude capture and protect her husband or the world's most powerful forces will erase any trace of her existence.
Salt will hit theaters July 23, 2010.

Jolie sucks, not in a good way. She put me to sleep in both tomb raiders.

Looks good, but there is something off with the trailer. I think its the bad GIJOE type 3d text. Besides that, Jolie has been badass in Mr and Mrs. Smith, Wanted, Tomb Raider and a few other action fueled movies. And she can definitely act. Wimmer wrote the screenplay and he did Equilibrium. One of the best downlow action movies ever. I`m going to forget he also did Ultraviolet one the worst downlow action movies ever. Either way, I love Jolie so I`m in.
Was it just me, or did I just watch a female Jason Bourne movie trailor?
I'm guessing this will be explained in the movie, but it seems awfully ridiculous that some Russian with absolutely not record can defect and finger a CIA agent as a sleeper spy, thus causing her to run (even though she's sure she's innocent) and start this enormous woman hunt.
I thought it looked good. I love Jolie, heck of an actress and looks to boot. Bigred hit it on the head though, a female Bourne is what it looks like, except with Jolie and no shaky cam, it may actually be better or just as good. I'm there
The plot basically looks recycled from about 100 other movies, but damned if it didn't look entertaining. Not to mention AJ looked smokin'!! She makes me feel kinda funny. Like when we used to climb the rope in gym class...
They should change the title to SALT: Hypertension. The tag line Too Much Is Deadly
Or how about another poster: SALT......not just for seasoning.
What if they made it a buddy picture? SALT & PEPPA.
A spinoff of SALT titled SUGAR with the tag line: It ain't so sweet!
Eh, the movie looks pretty good, but I just don't find Angelina Jolie very convincing in this type of action role role. She was good in Tomb Raider and Wanted (even though Wanted sucked ass) but those movies were based on pure fantasy. I dunno, maybe I'm wrong. Maybe the trailer just doesn't do her justice. We'll see.
