Columbia Pictures and MGM have revealed their first official screenshot from Skyfall, the 23rd installment in the iconic James Bond franchise. Much like the previous set photos that appeared, lead star Daniel Craig is sporting the start of a beard in this pic that has the character in Shanghai. Check it out below. The film also stars Javier Bardem, Dame Judi Dench, Naomie Harris, Berenice Marlohe, Ralph Fiennes, Albert Finney, Ben Whishaw, Ola Rapace, Helen McCrory and Ben Whishaw. Director Sam Mendes is leading the production, based on a screenplay by returning franchise writers Neal Purvis, Robert Wade and John Logan.

Plot Concept: In "Skyfall," Bond's loyalty to M is tested as her past comes back to haunt her. As MI6 comes under attack, 007 must track down and destroy the threat, no matter how personal the cost.

Skyfall arrives in theaters November 9, 2012.

Thanks to Chopsaki for the submission.

Not a fan of the newer bond movies. I dunno i guess im just old school . Miss Moore and Timothy Dalton was great. The whole cold war atmospher was alot more fun.

WTF?!  The Walther PPK is back?!  Weird.

Aside from that, I can't wait for this film!  I must respectfully disagree with JokersxWild - I think Daniel Craig is by far the best Bond, possibly even better than Connery, as he treats the character with a tone and a gravitas that all the others lacked.  Craig's Bond isn't playful and charming... he's a cold-blooded @$$hole, who isn't so heartless that he is lacks humanity.  If anything, his heartless routine shows his humanity and what all he has to do to protect it.

Casino Royale was AMAZING, and Quantum of Solace was mediocre - I'm hoping Skyfall owns again like Casino Royale did.

Love the new Bond movies and can't wait for this one also.

If they hadn't told me the pic was of the new 007 movie, I might would have guessed it was from a Blade Runner remake.  :)

I like the new direction Craig's Bond has taken, but for some reason, I'm just not overly optimistic about this one.  (Kind of like the feeling I had before I ever saw a Green Lantern trailer.)  Hoping it is great though.

I miss the suave smooth elements of the older Bond movies. I also wish they'd bring back the gadgets. I enjoy the new Bond films. I just want them to incorporate some of the elements that made Bond the super spy all the other super spies aspired to be. Now, he's just like every one else.

The old Bond, you grew up wanting to be. The new Bond, you just want to watch and sometimes feel sorry for. I think there is a way to successfully meld the two.

Daniel Craig is the best Fleming representation of Bond in the movies. Just like the books! The books didn't have tons of gadgets and him being over the top corny. Bond was a border-line alcoholic who put his life on the line for Queen and country.

I love the new Bond films too.  I still love the old ones but I'm glad they changed with the times.  If it was up to some people, things would never change and we would never progress further.  This desire to stagnate makes no sense to me, things change, people change, if you are always against it you limit your ability to enjoy it!!

Agree with rogue188. Craig has the literary Bond spot on. The previous Bond's where just Albert Broccoli's interpretation of the character, not Fleming's.

Capt - that is the new Walther PPK/E he's using.

I think they went so far overboard with the gadgets by the end of Brosnan's run that it's refreshing having not had any for a couple of movies.

So, a butt crack shot and a shot of Bond with a beard.  Riviting.  Either way, ready for the film to come out.  Please, please be better than QOS and near CR.
