As we prepare to enter the final month before Marvel Studios hammers Thor into 3D theaters across the globe, the studio and Paramount Pictures have rolled out their very first official clip from the tentpole. Watch it in the video player down below. The action-adventure stars Chris Hemsworth, Natalie Portman, Tom Hiddleston, Anthony Hopkins, Rene Russo, Stellan Skarsgard, Jaimie Alexander, Kat Dennings, Ray Stevenson, Samuel L. Jackson, Josh Dallas, Tadanobu Asano, Idris Elba, Clark Gregg and Colm Feore. Helmer Kenneth Branagh led the direction, based on a screenplay by Ashley Edward Miller, Zack Stentz and Don Payne.

Plot Concept: The story spans the Marvel Universe from present day Earth to the realm of Asgard. At the center of the story is the mighty Thor (Chris Hemsworth), a powerful but arrogant warrior whose reckless actions reignite an ancient war. Thor is cast down to Earth by his father Odin (Anthony Hopkins) and is forced to live among humans. A beautiful, young scientist, Jane Foster (Natalie Portman), has a profound effect on Thor, as she ultimately becomes his first love. It's while here on Earth that Thor learns what it takes to be a true hero when the most dangerous villain of his world sends the darkest forces of Asgard to invade Earth.

Thor will arrive in 3D/2D theaters May 6, 2011.

I'm hoping that the 'This is Earth?' line was an alternate take for the norms, I'm hoping he'll still be calling Earth Midgard...

A little more than a month away! Can't wait!

on a side note: That Insidious movie better be one good movie with all of the ad interruptions.

Of all the clips they could put out they put THAT out??

Mossy1221 3/31/2011 4:06:27 AM

Way to make him look like a wimp.

Hey raa2001. I am pretty excited about Insidious. But the PG-13 rating has me a bit worried.  Haven't they exhausted all the creepiness value out of spook horror films? The Ring, The Grudge, One Missed Call, Dark Water and every other Japanese/Asien remake in the last 10 years.

I still find the clip pretty funny. I  think the "This is earth, isn't it? line is once he wakes up from the shock

I guess when Odin cast him out and took his power he made him human because no taser on earth is taking down a proper THOR. And this makes sense since he isn't embodying Donald Blake to feel like a human.

Can't wait...

This movie and Capt are going to rule the summer.

I agree raa2001, I just reached a point this morning where the Insidious pop-up's on this site are seriously starting to piss me off.

redvector 3/31/2011 6:29:01 AM

I hear ya about these Insidious pop-ups. They're just about as bad as the tv ads. In an hour long show I counted that the ad came on six times. That doesn't make me want to see it, that just makes me change the channel or hit the mute button.
