Ray I think DC's reign on the king of animation may be coming to an end with the firing of Bruce Timm. The new Superman flick looks average but Superman's face is so damn long. No sure if they wanted his chin to reach his knees.

I hate the new animation team at DC.  They suck donkey show.  They team(s) that did the older movies were awesom.  Let's not even get started on the classics like Batman and Batman Beyond.  The new art styles for a lot of the new animated DC movies has been total shit.

I think Marvel should hire another respectable writer/director with geek cred (i.e. Whedon) to oversee their Marvel Knights films while Whedon oversees the other films that tie with the Avengers. This new writer/director could be overseeing smaller more violent Marvel films set in the same universe as the Avengers. Since Punisher and Daredevil are back in house, lets get new films for those done as well bring Luke Cage, Iron Fist, Morbius and Moon Knight into production. I don't know if Ghost Rider is back in house yet but I would love to see a dark violent Ghost Rider film made that crosses other characters such as Daredevil into his stories. Can we get a David Fincher directed Daredevil film using the Frank Miller material? Would it be possible to get an Alex Proyas directed Punisher film? Damn, I would love to see the darkside of the Marvel universe. I'd freakin' love a Moon Knight film directed by either Joe Wright or even crazier Terry Gilliam. Yeah, I know I'm shootin' kind of high here, but don't we all?

Timm wasn't fired according to the release that came out that I read. And none of the sites I visit said otherwise. It sounded like he stepped down because of the cancellation of GL TAS and Young Justice

I liked most of his work but DC's animation seemed to had already been losing some of their mojo prior to Timm leaving. I think his departure may be a good thing. Even the best at what they do start getting stale after a while....very few if any exceptions

speaking of DC animation. I think the last one I saw that just screamed horrible animation was Superman vs. The Elite. That just made me sad.

Thor Trailer looks great! I'm so happy it looks better than the first film. I felt like Kenneth B. didn't quite know how to handle the action scenes. The first action scene was cool, but the last one in the small town was just super lackluster. Bring on Thor 2!!!

Agree death4sale, you had me at MoonKnight

Maybe Marvel can do something like what they have in store for Star Wars. Those stand alone films inbetween can delve into the Marvel underworld if they don't want to attach them to the main tent pole films. These can be the gritty back alley crime and supernatural stories.

death4sale, everything you said right there is awesome. Marvel should do it all now.

@Wiseguy - Marvel could also show that these dark and gritty underworld films take place in the same main line Marvel verse. They could show a news clip of Hulk losing it or an internet story about Iron Man kicking AIM's ass. Just enough for the geeks like us

I'd actually prefer all those characters (DD, Cage, Fist Knight) as TV shows. Their grittier, more realistic styles would work well on a lower cable TV budget and they would be superhero shows that can take advantage of the episodic  TV format very well. We don't get the "continued next ish" enjoyment in the big budget movies. Long running subplots and stories could be done there. How many of us here enjoy that on shows like Walking Dead and GoT?

Plus, you wouldn't be obligated to get name actors for all the roles such as the problems some fans had with Affleck, Garner, and Duncan in DD.  You'd just pick the right actor period.

Fist Knight? Never heard of that character, with that name I shudder to think what his superpower is.
