Female Superhero Movie for Marvel

According to Natalie Portman

During a recent press junket for Thor: The Dark World, Natalie Portman stated that Marvel has a female superhero movie in the works. Here is the quote from The Inquistir

“There are definitely many strong women, but it will be exciting when there is a central female character which I think is coming — I have heard is coming — and, of course, also a central non-white character will also be exciting. Title characters … But they do definitely have strong female characters in them and I think it’s a testament to the people who run Marvel, their respect, their just normal human respect for women, the way they want to characterize them; you can tell when men talk to you, as just a person or as a ‘woman.’”

Now nothing has officially been released or stated by Marvel or Disney. This is a logical next step in Marvel Phase 3 plan. Who do you think it will be Maniacs? Who do you want it to be? Yes, those are two different things.

Marvel and Disney will probably make an announcement after Thor: The Dark World makes a big splash for its opening weekend.

THOR: THE DARK WORLD (in Digital 3D and RealD) arrives November 8, 2013

Last rumors I heard were Disney/Marvel were courting Katee Sackoff for Ms. Marvel/Captain Marvel.

I would also like to see a She-Hulk movie...could be really cool and fun if done correctly.  While I wouldn't want her to be CGI, I would like to see them use some LOTR-esque trick photography and special effects to make her look height appropriate to the comics.

Ms. Marvel would also be awesome.

Starbuck as Ms. Marvel?!?  Sweeeet.

Starbuck as Captain Marvel: YES!

I'd rather have a She-Hulk TV show than movies. The character seems like it would lend itself to an episodic format much better.

I have a feeling if they go with Carol Danvers , they will use her WARBIRD codename for the title...

Chopsaki 9/24/2013 9:27:37 AM

 Ms. Marvel definitely.

 Jessica Drew as Spider Woman

Ms Marvel/Captain Marvel since the character carries the Marvel name.

Not sure if Spider-Woman would be an issue for rights. Sure Sony doesn't have her rights but would maybe object to using a character with Spider in the name to not cross the two universes.
