The Hollywood Reporter confirms talk that 'Fred Claus' director David Dobkin will be directing 'The Flash' for Warner Bros. What is also revealed is that Craig Wright, creator of ABC's 'Dirty Sexy Money' will pen the screenplay. Mosaic Media's Charles Roven and Alex Gartner are producting.
"We're looking to bring comedies to Warner, and I'm also looking to make large-scale scale tentpole movies as well," Dobkin told the Reporter.
Contrary to what's previously been reported, Dobkins' 'Flash' film is not a spin-off of the 'Justice League' movie and will not necessarily be the same flavor of Flash found in that movie.
Dobkinks told The Reporter that he enjoys specific aspects of the comic book character's powers.
"Because of that simplicity, it is easy to design a theme and a story around what his inner life is in comparison to his superpower," he said.
