The thirtieth anniversary is upon us in Japan just about when it comes to a particular side of the Gundam world, i.e. the model kit world, and a new project is underway that will be ready in July through the spring of 2011 for travelers. While we've seen Pokemon and Hello Kitty planes out there in the past, All Nippon Airways is set to work up a deal with Bandai/Sunrise alongside the Hazime Toorue company to create what's being called the "ANA × GUNDAM SKY PROJECT."
"In this project, ANA side of the aircraft, "Gundam" decorated in "ANA × GUNDAM JET" from July 16th through March 2011. The flights will be on the Haneda - Osaka route where the port side has the head of the Gundam and logo while the starboard side is "based on images stored in White" in life-size Gundam design. Those who go on the first flight will get a special "ANA × GUNDAM JET " original certificate.
