Fly Oceanic and Get LOST

Some cool Viral sites for the hit show.

Viral Marketing can actually be fun when it’s well done and it’s something the marketing team behind LOST has done well. Finally, this season’s campaign is underway with two new websites that hint at new characters. There’s a website for Oceanic Air, the airline in the series. The site seems to have been hijacked by a potential new character named Sam who is looking for a flight attendant that he calls “his partner”. There’s a video message on the site that shows flashes of another site, Find815, which is Sam’s personal site where he continues to look for flight 815, the missing plane that started it all. These sites are a lot of fun and a good way to get excited for the return of the series.

Here are the addresses:

Fly Oceanic

Find 815

Yes I know, the first 6 episodes of last season were not great but if you gave up at episode 6, you made a big mistake because the series righted itself immediately with the remaining episodes being some of the best of the series. Get caught up because season 4 premieres on January 31st.

Is there not an Oceanic Air commercial now running on ABC?

Stephen, you are right. It was like a totally different show after the first 6 episodes and it ended really well, so i`m looking forward to the 31st.

Are you kidding, I don't need new sites to get excited for season 4. Have you seen the previews?.....that alone gets you pumped for the show. Can't wait to see who joins Locke's crew (you know Sawyer does from the previews) and who joins Jack's crew. Plus, who are the Oceanic 6? Lot of good stuff for this season if you are a fan of the show and I think the show is only going to get better now that the producers have an end date, so we won't get so many filler episodes. **spoiler** I read somewhere that the first episode of season 4 would be a Hurley episode and it's called The Beginning of the End, like Ben said at Season 3's finale. **end spoiler*** And remember, God loves you as he loved Jacob.

*** SPOILER ALERT *** *** SPOILER ALERT *** *** SPOILER ALERT *** The Oceanic 6 are what the (future) media calls the six survivors of Flight 815 that get back to civilization. *** MORE SPOILER ALERT *** *** MORE SPOILER ALERT *** *** MORE SPOILER ALERT *** The Oceanic 6 are Jack, Kate, Hurley, Sayid, Sun & Jin. It has been leaked that someone else will get off the island, but not part of the 'Oceanic 6', which might just be a clever way to say Vincent. Who knows.

The site find815 is cool. First, it brings you to a video of someone who appears to be a new cast person trying to find his girlfriend lost on the flight 815. He then receives an email saying it's from someone who knew his lost gf and then there is a picture attached of her yet there is a few hard to find differences from the picture he has of his girlfriend and the one that was sent to him. Once you find enough differences by zooming in the face of the new picture (mostly they are in the face), you get to a new video where once the guy has found enough differences he tries to email back the person who wrote to him but he can't and he gets an email where it's all scrambled but WE have the opportunity to brake a code within the email.... It's been a few minutes I'm trying to do it...it'shard. Ok...found it...it's at the end of the email...there is a link of a name of a group withing the email...click on it and it brings you to a new video.

I'm looking forward to this too. I read an interview with Matthew Fox over the weekend and he pretty much summed up what I expected to see this coming season. Particularly giving me the feel that no matter what, the Twilight Zone-style mystery that has made this show more than worth watching for me, is not going away anytime soon. Also brought up the questions of "What is this island, where is this island, WHEN is this island?" He was only being rhetorical or course, but the "when" part alone makes what's to come sound completely awesome if they go, even slightly, towards that route. I think, and hope, we're in for another really good mind-screw. It's what I always look forward to in this show.

I just wanna see the fate of Charlie. Hopefully when the season starts Siyad or whatever his name is some how gets Charlie out of the flooded room and revives him. Not too far fetched for this show.
hanso 1/7/2008 11:53:23 AM
safetyguy, you are referring to Desmond, not Sayid. Desmond is the one with Charlie in the Looking Glass station. Also, I hate to break it to you but Charlie is dead, that's it for him, no more. This aint Heroes where blood can revive characters. If you watch Lost you know that once a character is dead, he is dead for good. You might get to see him in flashbacks or visions but that's it. Acidsquall, I read that interview also, it was in this week's EW. The time concept will be coming into play this season, how else are they going to explain that Walt grew? Plus you got Richard Alpert who looked the same in Ben's flashback and in the present. And, if you remember in Room 23 where they were brainwashing Karl it said something like "only fools are trapped by time & space".

While I have no doubt time is going to play a part of the mystery, you shouldn't take the aging of the actor who plays Walt as evidence of this. Based on past episodes, it's possible the 'Walt' that Locke saw in the finale was really the smoke monster or the island. And we don't know that we'll ever see Walt on the island in the 'present'. Perhaps you'll only see him in flash-forwards, which could be some years in the future. Nevertheless, everything they have said and hinted suggests that this place is somehow out of time.
