TMG...you had me at Whoa.
Although you missed the "meets Portal 2"...the female cybernetic voice is spot on......this looks beyond AWESOME!

Here is the first official trailer for Guillermo Del Toro's Pacific Rim (2013). Prepared to be wowed.
Here we seen alien (Kaiju) attack threatening the Earth's existence, giant robots (Jaegers) piloted by humans are deployed to fight off the menace.
The Plot: In the film, legions of monstrous creatures, known as Kaiju, start rising from the sea and begin a war that would takes millions of lives and consumes humanity’s resources for years on end. To combat the giant Kaiju, a special type of weapon was devised: massive robots, called Jaegers, which are controlled simultaneously by two pilots whose minds are locked in a neural bridge. But even the Jaegers are proving nearly defenseless in the face of the relentless Kaiju. On the verge of defeat, the forces defending mankind have no choice but to turn to two unlikely heroes-a washed up former pilot (Charlie Hunnam) and an untested trainee (Rinko Kikuchi)-who are teamed to drive a legendary but seemingly obsolete Jaeger from the past. Together, they stand as mankind’s last hope against the mounting apocalypse.
The film features Charlie Hunnam, Idris Elba, Charlie Day, Rinko Kikuchi, Max Martini, Rob Kazinsky, Clifton Collins Jr., and Diego Klattenhoff.
The Pacific Rim opens July 12th, 2013.

Oh sweet Lord and baby Jesus, THAT was ... there are no words. Now, if Godzilla can bring the same all will be right in the world.
Despite the horrific bad acting and silly directing, I do really like seeing giant robots and or giant monsters fighting- So I'll probably just hold my nose (as I did with the transformers movies) and go see this.
Someone has to say it: Del Toro has a knack for visuals and creatures, but he simply does not know how to direct his actors to deliver convincing dialogue.
Honestly, I think it looks pretty hokey, but in an awesome Starship Troopers kind of way. I'm in.
Looks decent.... looks like a live action mix of Robotech and Evangelion
This looks awesome, no stars and not good acting, but who cares, this is a popcorn action flic with giant monsters vs giants robots, im there!! As soon as I saw a large piloted robot on scree I was anybody else thinking Voltron...anybody else?
Ha this looks like a blast. Wish they'd shown more but I guess they have to keep alittle bit of mystery for the film itself.
Not a big Charlie Hunnan fan but I'm still down for some pop-corn fun
Whoa.
Iron Man meets Transformers meets Godzilla meets Pan's Labyrynth meets Monsters vs. Aliens meets Sons of Anarchy meets Heimdall.
I'm so f*cking there.
