Can you feel it? The summer is about to begin and it is far better than any March Madness. Here is the latest TV Spot from Paramount Pictures for Star Trek Into Darkness. Being a fan of Sherlock, it will be difficult not to root for Benedict Cumberbatch.

Synopsis: In Summer 2013, pioneering director J.J. Abrams will deliver an explosive action thriller that takes Star Trek Into Darkness. When the crew of the Enterprise is called back home, they find an unstoppable force of terror from within their own organization has detonated the fleet and everything it stands for, leaving our world in a state of crisis. With a personal score to settle, Captain Kirk leads a manhunt to a war-zone world to capture a one man weapon of mass destruction. As our heroes are propelled into an epic chess game of life and death, love will be challenged, friendships will be torn apart, and sacrifices must be made for the only family Kirk has left: his crew.

Star Trek Into Darkness stars Chris Pine, Zachary Quinto, Zoe Saldana, Karl Urban, John Cho, Bruce Greenwood, Simon Pegg, Anton Yelchin, Benedict Cumberbatch, Alice Eve and Peter Weller.

Star Trek Into Darkness arrives on May 17th, 2013.

I don't know much about Star Trek, Is that new bad guy Q?

(that is my beleated april fools joke for die-hard Star Trek fans, who's heart rate just jumped)

Die hard Star Trek fans!?! You mean Bruce Willis is going to star as a security officer who takes on the bad guy singlehandedly by sneaking around in air ducts and Jeffries tubes? Wow, this is gonna be great!

Yippee Kiy-yay Mother Tribble-F@#ker!

Next Generation already did a Die Hard episode...the ship was getting some sort of scanning/cleaning procedure done, and a group of highly trained hijackers tried to steal it.  I was waiting for Jean Luc to say "Yippee Kiy-yay"....LOL

While this movie may be good on its own merits it is by no means a true Star Trek Film which any true Trekkie will tell you. Abrams has created a visually flashy but soulless simulacrum of the original trek. This does look better than Abrams last Trek and I accept that this is an alternate timeline, but it still has no TREK soul.

I do like the DIE HARD joke tho.

My Aunt Kathy has been a Star Trek fan since it first aired. corresponds with Avery Brooks, and some semesters, teaches the Star Trek college course at the University of Hawaii.  She loved Abrams' movie.  Want to talk more about TRUE Trekkies?

She also turned down the chance to appear in "Trekkies 2" because she didn't care for how they tried to make all Trekkies look like insane freaks.

Umm I'm a true fan and I loved the last one, and how can you start ripping apart a movie you haven't even seen yet.  Patience, you'll have plenty of time to make fun of it after you see it.  Or, hey just don't go see it and wait till they jump start a new version.  I've seen every episode of star trek more times than I can count and all the Next Generation and so forth and so on, and I think the last star trek was waaaaaaay better than most of the TNG movies.
