Is Gordon-Levitt Batman?

JSA and Batman Follow Up?!

By Robert T. Trate     November 27, 2012
Source: Movie Pilot/ Hitflix

All right, I have gotten multiple emails from the Maniacs and we have to address the rumor that Joseph Gordon-Levitt is going to play Batman. Yes, your read the right. The successor in the Nolan Batman Franchise, Robin John Blake, will don the cape and cowl in the Justice League movie. Or so they say?! Here are two different reports from Hitfix and Movie Pilot.
According to sources (via Hitfix), “Joseph Gordon-Levitt absolutely will be appearing in Justice League as the new Batman”. - Drew McWeeny

Movie Pilot is reporting “That’s why they’re taking Joseph Gordon-Levitts The Dark Knight Rises character, Robin John Blake, and giving him the keys to the batmobile. For real, and sooner than you think too. Warner Bros., not content to let us wait for the return of the Dark Knight in his own rebooted franchise, or the even more anticipated (if that’s possible) Justice League movie, are moving forward with plans to continue Nolan’s universe ASAP.”
There you have it Maniacs. I'll believe it when the news comes from The Hollywood Reporter, Variety, or Entertainment Weekly.

It is a great rumor, at this point, and makes sense if DC Comics and Warner Brothers follows The Avengers game plan.

Phew! Just read somewhere else Gordon-Levitt's rep totally debunked this.

Thank god. I want a Bruce Wayne Bats for JL movie, not a Nolan John Blake.

I can dig it. I mean as long as they stick with the rules to the story they've been telling - no big deal. JGL is a great actor.

Im with ElBaz. Nolan's batman is done. Reboot with a more badass "comic-booky" Bruce Wayne-Batman. An entire Justice League franchise without the real Batman would just never feel right to me.

And when I mean "comic-booky", im talking like a much more action-packed Batman where he is flipping off rooftops, and is like almost always in the shadows style kind of Batman.... if that makes sense to anyone else....

I really enjoyed the Nolan trilogy, but for me I'm cool with that world being left alone. I believe if they're going to do the JL properly it has to be in it's own universe.....which includes BRUCE WAYNE as batman!

I would pay to see that...plus it would add life to the role....we would definttely get a grittier Batman. I like it.

It doesn't matter to me at all if they do a Bruce Wayne Batman or go with JGL for this. But I will say its nice to hear the reports that Snyder's Superman could be in JL. If they dont have some sort of continuity going into JL with a new Superman having just come out, I dont think it would bode well for a successful Justice League movie.

DarthBob 11/27/2012 7:21:38 PM

Dumb choice, get away from Nolan's Batman and allow the JL movie to have a traditional Bruce Wayne Batman.

TALIS 11/27/2012 7:24:53 PM

At this point I am doubtful that we will see a Justice League movie any time soon. JGL is a great actor, but he fit the "Robin" part so well partially because he physically looks like he could be Batman's side-kick. Christian Bale brought a physique and physicality to the role ... He really looked like he could beat up someone. JGL just doesn't look like he'd fair well in a fight. And, if Snyder's superman does make it into a justice league role, you don't want a Batman that's physically half the size of superman.

MrJawbreakingEquilibrium 11/27/2012 7:40:47 PM
Why does Batman have to be near Superman's size? Superman is a freaking...super man. He's the strongest man on DC's Earth. Batman doesn't need to be near his physicality.

Not a bad idea, but happier if it's not true. Batman will always be Bruce Wayne. As brilliant as the Nolan trilogy is, it is it's own universe and was always intended to be.
