Iron Man Disses The DARK KNIGHT - Aug 16, 2008 - 11:15am
Lets not compare TDK with The Godfather. One is probably the greatest film ever made, the other is just a good comic book flick that takes itself too serious. And it's not as smart as it thinks it is, especially because of its self-explanatory tendencies, which is something you don't see in a truly adult film, like The Godfather.
I'm sure RDJ understood what happened in TDK, he just don't know why it happened, why Nolan made the choices he made. It's a valuable point, and one that i agree with. Because it is a very good movie, just not a very good Batman movie, based on the fact that he just gets screwed over and over in it. And the "sacrifice" he makes in the end, well, he's not Jesus, he's the Goddamn Batman, he's a hero and he should just act like one and be, you know, heroic once in a while. And he should win sometimes, no matter how dark the movie thinks it is.
And that's Iron Man is better, IMHO.

Ok, then. But they would've blown each other up in a sec. In that situation, they would. People wouldn't just sit there and wait to be blown up. And it wouldn't prove a thing, although the Joker would think so. That optismistic part of the movie fell flat on its back, IMO.
