Again, do the NOVELS. Luke is the Head of the Jedi Council, Leia is an ambassor to the Republic and Han is still a smuggler, albiet, a respectable one because his wife is an official for the Republic. The scripts are there, if you can make Harry Pothead, Eragon, Series of Unfortunate Events, and all these other books into movies, then you can use these. Most of them are better than the movies anyway. Like the Star Trek books, some of the best material out there, never gets to film because they are retards.

 While I still don't think they should use the novels, I never thought about it that way, lazarus.  You're right, SO many Star Trek books are better than a lot of the Star Trek movies.  I'm still sad that I'll never see a big screen adaptation of "Q Sqared"...talk about epic...

 So far as I know, there is only ONE instance of Star Trek basing something on a book, and that was the season 5 two part episode of Next Generation called "Unification", the one with Spock.  The book actually came out first, and was called "Reunification."

I've said I believe Lucas' new trilogy idea wouldn't involve "The Three" (blessed be their names) because knowing the way he works he would want to do a storyline as free from any constraints with continuity as possible. If he sets it many, many years after Ep VI he would have free rein.

That being said, I would of course love for them to be in the next trilogy in some way. It's just the nostalgic geek in me. This story says he is open to it, but we still don't know what George and Mickey The Mouse have in mind.

Wait and see.

 I'm actually a little more interested in seeing a Lucas-free Indy.

At best, I think an aged OT Trinity would be cameos.

 No matter how good these new movies may be, and I hope they are, I will be all kinds of disappointed if I find out I have waited more than 30 years for cameos.  Just saying.

And if they were not going to have Hamil, Fisher, and Ford why are they talking ot thme so much about it? they will be in the movies. Like I have said before. There are more considerations then just the story for Disney. Those three are the faces of Star Wars. That is a fact. It is a matter of brand recognition. They will be in the movies.

 I tend to agree, axia...it would be like giving Superman, Wonder Woman and Batman cameos in the JLA movie...does anybody think I give a flying f*** what Ice or Booster Gold are doing?
