This movie flew under the radar, but I imagine most of you or all of you have heard of it, if you haven't already seen it.

For those who haven't seen "Fandango," it is Kevin Costner's first movie, and is at times hysterically funny, and at others is poignant and touching. It has a message and tells it in a very creative and original way. There really isn't any other film I can compare to "Fandango," and it is truly worthy of being considered a "great" movie.

I saw this years ago. It was actually quite good, very evocative of the era it was trying to convey. Hilarious when it needs to be, serious and sad when the situation called for it. The skydiving segment is perfect, as is the ill-advised train sequence. Unfortunately it never quite got the audience it deserves. I wonder if it could gain new life in the current climate.

It definitely deserves a DVD release, imo. I'm surprised it hasn't gotten one given the road-trip fad of the past few years.
