Lucky, lucky man. Maya ain't cheap, and there's the evidence right there.
It is also the reason, as far as DCG gallery goes, why Maya is fairly untapped right now.

Not just Maya, Deej, Z-Brush too! Another great 3D program, from all I've seen and read. As somebody using older, lesser programs, I have software envy. You definitely have a bigger and better software package :) Still, the software only takes you so far. Your talent is quite apparent and this piece is stunning!

Yeah. Maya is nice and expensive.*cough* But I really haven’t used it much for this image for it to really count. The base cage is VERY simple and that’s all I really did in Maya… although I did pose it in Maya as well. I think more credit should be given to Zbrush for the detail, overall shape and lighting. Also it’s quite heavily Photoshopped so there is no Maya fidgy-widgyness.

You gotta love Zbrush though.:)

there is a free version...it just watermarks your renders. don't forget the learning curve for maya...it's not easy, grab a book or take a class to get a feel for it. LP's comments are dead on...the program is just a tool, without the artist it's useless.
