It's news like this that continues to depress me since
my own spouse, according to this, has earned this amount 4x over. :(

From Yahoo News-
A woman holds her five-month-old son at the Lowe's movie theater on 34th street in New York in an undated file photo. A full-time stay-at-home mother would earn $134,121 a year if paid for all her work, an amount similar to a top U.S. ad executive, a marketing director or a judge, according to a study released on Wednesday. Judging from the other diaper bags and babies in the background, this looks like one of those special "mommy matinees" that some theaters have, where babies are welcome and the showing is clearly labeled so patrons know its full of kids.

I accidentally found myself in one such screening on a Saturday morning. Fortunately, it wasn't a really big audience, so I was only marginally aware of a few cries and baby noises during the show.
I think it is a good idea for theaters to offer child and non-child screenings of movies at more regular show times, so those with kids can get to see the shows at more convenient times for them, and those without kids who don't like the distraction of them, can have their shows with the comfort level they want.
We could carry it further: Food, no food screenings. Cell phone, no cell phone screenings. Rude, not rude screenings. . . . :)

I do a lot of work with single mothers. Charity work, really. Selfless, altruistic... yep, that's right.
