X-Mas in July Time!

It's that time again from our bi-annual gift exchange...X-mas in July! For those not familiar with the rules, here they are:

Post a message in this topic stating that you would like to CREATE and RECEIVE a X-Mas DCG gift. Be sure to include your e-mail address, a link to where we can see some pics of you (be it a website of your's, an image hoster, or the DCG Photo Album) and a list of some comic characters you would like to be made into. After July 1st, the last day to sign up, Zac and I will randomly pick Secret Santas for everyone, and e-mail them about who their victim shall be. You will have the next few weeks to manip that person into anyone you want, though preferably someone they said they want to be. To get a picture of them, look for the links here, then submit your art like any other theme day and wait for them to be posted. Make sure you keep your gift recipient a secret!

The title will be "***Xmas: Gift for <Recipient’s name>" and the "I-Want-IN!" deadline will be the evening of July 1! Then, the picture deadline will be August 15th, to be posted the 16th!

Just a few reminders:
• Don't sign up if you don't intend to put effort into your gift. It's not fair for someone to work hard on a picture for you if you only whip something up for someone else in 5 minutes.
• MEET THE DEADLINE! You are given a month to work on this so there is no reason you should submit your work late.
• You cannot enter if you do not have a picture, be in the DCG Photo Album or on some image-hosting website. If you don't have a picture in the DCG Photo Album but would like one, please post here and then send it in an e-mail to me at Rhonda @ comics2film.com with your s/n in the subject. Make sure to post on here that you sent an e-mail in case I don’t get it, and please make sure you size the photos so my inbox doesn’t crash. Think pics that are good base images, like hair out of your face, pic quality, etc.
• Making someone into one of their preferred characters is not mandatory, but it is suggested.

I think that's it! Remember, if you want in, just post a message in here with:
• You saying "I want IN!"
• A link telling where we can find pics of you (and they need to be good face shots)
• A list of a few characters you'd like to be made into.
• Your e-mail address

And I'm sorry this is a bit later in the month that I usually prefer posting this, so if we get a lot of participants before the I want in deadline, we can close early and give artists more time to work on it.

I'm not worried about getting or not getting a gift myself, cos I'm not signing up anyway due to lack of time. I'm just surprised no one else seems interested.

Can we make the submission date mid-July or something? The DCG's Xmas in July is cool and surely I'm not alone in wanting to participate. With the Challenge of the artists, etc, it's just difficult to commit to more themes with deadlines in the immediate future.
My photos are in the DCG Album, and I'm happy to be made into any cool comic character - hero or villain. (If Xmas proceeds after all.) Cheers

Well the deadline for submissions is July 30...so mid July would actually be pushing it up and giving people less time. Is that what you meant to suggest?

Yeah I suspect a lot of people aren't seeing this thread for some reason...I'll try sending out bulletin on my space, which has a lot of DCGers...and see what happens.....but I also think a lot of people are just pressed for time this year.

Well I gave it a few extra days but this is closed. So, since we have two volunteers and need at least three to make it work I will partcipate also. Zac will 'assign' us three in secret as usual, and we'll have a very small, but festive little party.

Kinda like a threesome! :P

So, tomorrow I will see what pics are up of me in the yahoo gallery and then update them with new pics, and also I can do requests, depending on the level of nudity involved, ahem, and I can be specific...if you don't want to do fishnets...I own some.

I would like to be either made into Typhoid Mary, or I would really like a pin up of my original character Judgment, who most of you know is based on me visually. I have ref pics for costumes she wears, and I'd be happy with a manip of her or a drawing of her and I'd be really happy if it was okay for me to use it for sample art in a pitch proposal, full creds given to the artist of course.

So Santy, whomever you may be, that's what I'd like for X-mas! In July. Assignments to go out soon, as soon as Zac is ready and he's your middle man for pics or the costume ref pics etc.

I've just added a poll to the first post of the thread asking whether you secret santas want an extension. I'm thinking August 15th (for display on August 16th), which is just over two weeks extra, and gives y'all a month from when you got the gift messages.

Please post a note here if you don't think the two week and a bit extension is enough.

Also, MB, Atomic Man, have you two talked? Should I be expecting submissions from you guys as well?

There will indeed be an extension, by two votes to one. The new deadline will be somewhere around the middle of August. I'll post it later today. And you and MB are invited to contribute, since it'll be a pretty lightweight theme day otherwise!

Sorry 'bout the delay for those who didn't need it, but look on the bright side: this not only gives slowpokes like Dave, MB and Atomic Man extra time, it'll also allow Kev_incal to do one of his traditional creepy make-fun-of-the-DCG-Editor pics... Wait, that's not a bright side, is it? :?
