Is about upon us. I really wish American's would get more emotionally involved in this than we do, as IT IS REALLY A BIG DEAL.
I don't see soccer becoming much bigger in this country than it already is, because there is just too much competition for the entertainment dollar, but at least for the World Cup Americans should choose to support our team just like we would our favorite pro or college teams in other sports.
As for this year's tournament, we have a representative team, but I still think Germany has to be the favorite, and not necessarily because they're the host country. I watched the U.S. play Germany in a friendly, and they were just a step above our team. And since I think our team is actually pretty good, that means to me that Germany is a powerful team.
I don't know enough about the other teams to really know who is best, so it will be interesting to see how this plays out.
