it's alright i guess.
man this is amazing! that background is killer....really adds to the image. i love the whole computer layout. great job on the white parts of the suit...that had to be tough (at least for me i would have had trouble with that color). first time i looked at it i didn't notice the cyborg components, very nice. been cool to have her "jacked in" with some wires running from her neck. Poser? i'm guessing for the pose....nice work on de-posering the body...wouldn't have guessed poser based on the skin (maybe some Zbrush going on there).
top notch work! favorite pic of the day.

Thank you Mr Turner :D I am pleased as punch that you like it.
Thanks to you as well Mr Sonic
I appreciate the kind words Dan. I guess my notes could have been better. I'm a little spaztic after completing an image and in my rush to post words often escape me. The image here is in homage to the Manga master Masamune Shirow and his Ghost in the Shell master work. In the manga, which is very different than the anime, he often depicts the Major working within a wholly digital environment. This is my interpretation of that and his wonderful pin-ups of the character and thus why I didn't depict her hard wired to anything.
There is very little Poser in this particular piece. In fact it is limited to her left hand and forearm. The pose of the model is mostly her own doing. She was on a (conveniently) black couch with her left hand on her hip. She also had very long hair which covered the right side of her chest completely. My handling of white is, as I often harped back when doing UIRs, a matter of bringing subtle color to it. So what I attempt to do is bring in color variation to pull the grey out, since white should carry reflection from the surrounding environment.
One thing I like to do and may be of use to anyone else using Poser to frankenstein body parts, is I will clone the models skin for the Poser parts. getting the right skin tone goes a long way to "de-Posering". I know everybody can see the hand isn't all the de-Posered here, but I hope the technique may still be of use.
Thanks again folks

Hey Buddy, you did good, you know you did good. I told ya you did good at heromorph, so instead of repeating myself I will sing Billy Idol's Rebel Yell.....
Enjoy
Last night a little dancer came dancin' to my door
Last night a little angel Came pumpin cross my floor
She said "Come on baby I got a licence for love
And if it expires pray help from above"
In the midnight hour she cried- "more, more, more"
With a rebel yell she cried- "more, more, more"
In the midniight hour babe- "more, more, more"
With a rebel yell- "more, more, more"
She don't like slavery, she won't sit and beg
But when I'm tired and lonely she sees me to bed
What set you free and brought you to be me babe
What set you free I need you hear by me
Because
In the midnight hour she cried- "more, more, more"
With a rebel yell she cried- "more, more, more"
In the midniight hour babe- "more, more, more"
With a rebel yell- "more, more, more"
He lives in his own heaven
Collects it to go from the seven eleven
Well he's out all night to collect a fare
Just so long, just so long it don't mess up his hair.
I walked the ward with you, babe
A thousand miles with you
I dried your tears of pain, babe
A million times for you
I'd sell my soul for you babe
For money to burn with you
I'd give you all, and have none, babe
Just, just, justa, justa to have you here by me
Because
In the midnight hour she cried- "more, more, more"
With a rebel yell she cried- "more, more, more"
In the midniight hour babe- "more, more, more"
With a rebel yell she cried "more, more, more"
Oh yeah little baby
she want more
Oh yeah little baby
she want more

Thanks flinshady, the background was not a hand crafted ordeal. I utilized a simple pattern which I altered and distorted in a variety of ways. I also employed a couple other PS tricks to acheive the overall effect.

wowowow... WOW! Man, this is just an amazing piece. I'm really not familiar with the manga although I've enjoyed the animated series as the most intelligent SciFi series ever to hit TV. I'm gonna be spendin' alot of time going over this one with a magnifier trying to figure out the million cool tricks you pulled off here and most important of all is how well it all comes together as a whole. Fantastic job, Bio!!

Thanks LP :D your appreciation is appreciated  If you really want an eyeful, check out the larger version here (http://heromorph.com/heromorph2/modules/myalbum/photo.php?lid=7361)
I also encourage you to check out the manga version of GITS. It's much different than the movies and tv shows, but is quite entertaining. Masamune Shirow is an amazing sequential artist and writer.
