There's been rumors of new episodes and straight to DVD movies. Looks like it might really happen.

CNN reports on new TV seasons (http://www.cnn.com/2006/SHOWBIZ/TV/05/08/television.pilots.reut/index.html)

Billy West himself states there's some shows in the works (http://billywest.com/forum/forum_posts.asp?TID=2011&PN=1). Whether it's episodes, shows, or straight to DVD stuff we don't know.

welp, looks like it's true. Variety and other sources are reporting that there will be 13 new episode, starting in 2008 to air on Comedy Central, which picked up the rights to the existing episodes after Cartoon Network loses them.

They should keep this show on Adult Swim, I think more people would watch it. It sucks how shows like Family Guy and Futurama get treated like crap on their original network (I'm talkin to YOU Fox), cancelled, then revived on Cartoon Network, only to be taken away! Cartoon Network is turning into that kid in high school who does all the work on a project while the rest of the group does nothing, then they still get credit. They're basically saying, "well, we didn't want this show, but now that you've made it cool we want it back." Bastards!

Yeah, you'd think that CN would start trying to defend all the hard work they do to make these shows so much more popular than they were, that way they can reap the benefits for more than a couple years before another networks yoinks them away.

Or maybe they're happy being the little network with the diehard cult following? Because all the shows they always loose seems to be the ones that would be strong enough to break them into a more mainstream network.

At least I can be thankful they weren't successful in resurrecting "The Oblongs" or "Baby Blues" (what the hell was that doing on there anyways?). I never really liked those shows. Now if only we could get new episodes of "Mission Hill"...

Last night on Adult Swim, they explained why they weren't getting the new Futurama episodes; money.

CN really makes the majority of its money from the advertising during kids shows, and not during the Adult Swim block.

Sad but true.

I know! Fox has pretty much done that with every show they've ever had, I began boycotting them after what they did with Arrested Development. That & their shutting down of most of the X-Files fan sites on the net... bastards!!! :romy:  AS is more like the geeky kid who does cool kids' homework for them & gets nothing in return.
