View Full Version : Comics2Film/Heromorph Crossover Event Spectacular

dperceful
08-07-2006, 08:35 PM
This event will have two themes....you and your partner will choose your theme from one of the following ideas:

Odd couple theme
Basically an odd couple theme between characters. For example, maybe have Captain America and Red Skull teamed up against a common foe. Or, Hellboy and Ghost Rider hunting a demon. Or, instead of one foe you
could do something like Kraven helping Blade hunt vampire animals (totally out there). It doesn't always have to be a team up against someone, it could be just an odd pairing like, Firestar and Iceman on a
date.

Hero/Villain showdown theme
Just as is stated. Heroes vs. Villains....any number of heroes vs. any number of villains.

Deadline for images is 10/29 5:00 PM EST for display on 10/29 evening. Please preface your images with *****c2fmorph: [your title here] (Please remember the *****'s otherwise even the almighty DCG administrator may miss your pics in the queue).

Information will be posted in this first post. As always, if you have a question ask here, PM, or email me. If you are a Heromorph artist, Daruma will be your point of contact.

Match Ups

Winterhawk and B
Thayne_Luc and effektdmentality
Alex, Daruma, and dan
Biohaz_Daddy and Shade The Mystic
BikerBot and Kevincal
Voltron2000 and Atomicman

I have PM'd you the email address of your partner. I have grabbed the addresses you have provided me and given them to Daruma to hand out over at Morph. If you didn't give me one, I grabbed it from my address book, the emails at this site, the COTA address book, etc.

I recommend contacting your partner(s) and laying some ground work. Introduce yourself, explain how you manip, what tools you use, and what ideas you have for the crossover image.

If you have issues with your partner not contacting you or something like that, let me know. Daruma and I are here to assist you in this crossover event, if your partner is having issues, or if you having an issue...just let us know and we will get is ironed out.

Remember you are representing C2F....play nice.

Sooooooo... how's everyone doing? This place has been really quiet on the subject of the crossover, while all the HM guys have been going on about how each of them is gonna kick everyone else's ass. For shame! :D

(Mine and Hawk's is coming along very nicely, and you'll all get to humbly prostrate yourselves at our feet soon enough. :D)

Oh, and in case anyone's worried about the deadline... I'll be doing the update on the evening of October 26th, which means that anything posted that day as late as around 5-6 PM EST will get into the update (depending on when exactly I do the update). Now, that doesn't mean you should wait until that evening to finish your pic, but you guys do have a bit of a grace period in case you're not 100% finished at 11:59 PM on the 25th.

Hey, in all fairness, I was one of the guys at HM saying how much ass we're going to kick and making crude inneundo to the other participants. Maybe not to the calibur of the others, but still, in there slinging mud just like everyone else.

Ours- that is, Biohaz_Daddy's and mine- is all done and in and everything. I would take the time to gloat and mention that everyone else needn't bother, but I can't very well claim victory if nobody else even tries, now can I?

I'm sorry you and Biohaz put so much effort into a losing cause. I can say that not only will Dark Wanderer and I post the best picture of the year but the only votes any of the other teams will get will be their own. I don't want to win by default either. This will be from long hours of hard work on over 400 layers. My scratch disc was full a few times win I tried to save it. It is 225 mb with over 400 unmerged layers. The entertainment and schooling provided by our picture will merit a unanimous victory. I think there will probably be people who will be too ashamed to vote for themselves after they see this. You should probably save yours for another theme day. I would hate for you to enter something that good and only get runner-up. Runner-up to ours will still be something to be proud of even when you only get 2 votes...yours and Biohaz's. I hope this cockiness on my part will get others to work even harder so the competition will be the best ever, but I don't want to lose my friendships with the others who will obviously have their spirits crushed

 bill your so funny

I know you think it is good but 400 layers of of crayon drawings no matter how you arrange them are still just 400 layers of crayon drawings...although DW's purple looks nice.

I think you will cry like a little girl (think Bio) when you see the greatness that myself and B are going to unleash upon you and the dcg.

This strikes me as oddly cruel--here everyone else is, waiting to see the image that will shatter their lives and ruin families- of coarse I'm referring to the delicious masterpiece BioHaz and I have crafted--and just before the axe falls, a brief repreive. Stop teasing the poor buggers, D. Just pull the trigger and get it over with!

Well, I at least hope everyone else will take the time they've been given to pray to whichever Supreme Deity the prostrate before that the end comes painlessly. Or at least that we don't pants their corpses and dress them up like clowns to devestate the dignity of the fallen.

B, you're worried about the colour of the sky, when we're gonna be bringing it down around your head?

I don't wanna give anything away, but nothing short of a sharp blow to the head is going to stop us from owning this place come Sunday. Just gonna swarm in and leave nothing but the fallen and the odd mentally shattered survivor. It's just the way things are. It's nice that you're standing up for your cute little...picture thingy, I suppose, but we are a runaway train, B-you see us coming, you know it's gonna hurt, but there ain't a dag-blasted thing you can do to stop us, son!!

Now THAT is how you talk smack! I hope you all took notes.

Ya like apples? 'Hawk, in less then twenty-four hours, your Heromorph avatar is gonna go from pimp to bitch. You can sit there tossing salt on our game 'till you're blue in the face, we'll be too busy playing rings around you to feel it. So posse up, bring all the mates you can, whatever hardware and fancy techniques you got. And some ketchup. We'll make you eat whatever stanky-ass image you got dragging up behind you. How d'ya like dem apples?

(Damn, what the hell happened to me? I'm never like this, normally.)

Good idea, Hawk... think I will! I've been regretting not signing up since the day after the sign up deadline! I mean, you guys were still greatly entertaining from a spectator's view and the results... WOW! I'm planning on being in the thick of it next year for the real fun!!

So, I might as well brag here as well, for those who don't read HMorph.

Brad Meltzer, the current writer of JLA, has posted my and Hawk's xover pic (which is a recreation of the alternate cover to JLA #1) on his blog.

Do we rule or what ? :D :D :D :D :D

I just wanted to take a moment and mention that Bill Turner and Dark_Wanderer won the poll over at Heromorph.
Their image really did kick all kinds of butt, when I first saw it I told Bill he and DW would win and a short time later he has. Way to GO you guys Rock.

I also wanted to bring to everyones attention that this is Bill Turners third year in a row kick butt and taking Names! Although in each year Bill has been team up with top notch artists, his team has always been able to go above and beyond in the work. I peronally think it is because of the amount of time and talent Bill poors into his images.

Here is a quick look back at the wins from the last three year.

Bill you rock!
Darkwanderer you Rock!
Congrats!

All the images in this x-over were really really good, I am proud just to have a image included in this fantastic tradition between these two great sites.
Well done everyone. Thumbs up for one and All.
