I stumbled across this article about the 25 greatest Bond moments of all time. I thought that most of the entries deserved Top 25 placement, I thought the order was very out of sinc.

Anyone want to take a shot at redoing it?

I pretty much agree with the contents, but like you I think the order is a little screwy. I can see how divisive it can be though, as Roger Moore is frequently cited as the worst Bond yet TSWLM ski / cliff sequence is, for me, one of the ultimate 007 moments of all time. Not least because TSWLM was the first Bond film I ever saw all the way through and that was the bit that made me sit up, take notice and go "Wow !!!!".

I also still want to own a 1977 Lotus Esprit. In fact, when I buy my new house with a garage and better off road parking I think I might hit eBay or Autotrader and indulge myself.

In fact, I have found a just later than FYEO era Esprit, and a 1978 model, already....

To make it fun for myself, I came up with a list before I peeked. Some of our lists matched, and sometimes I like their choices better (I can't believe I forgot the back-of-the-airplane fight with Necros). The advantage of having a vote is that other people come up with ideas you wish you'd thought of, and then other people vote for them, so your raw list is better.

This list at UnivEx was compiled before DAD was released, I think.

Anyway, here's the list I came up with (random order):

1. Honey Ryder emerging from the sea DN (we match here)
2. The Asgard jump TSWLM (we match; that's the ski jump off the cliff)
3. The dam jump GE
4. Bond revealing the dinner jacket under his wet suit GF (we match, they have the whole teaser)
5. “Ejector seat? You’re joking!” GF
6. The first “Bond, James Bond” DN (we match)
7. The first truly iconic nude undulation title sequence by Binder TB (I suspect they weren't counting title sequences at all, and that's a mistake)
8. The fight between Grant & Bond on the Orient Express FRWL (another match)
9. The fight between Peter Franks & Bond in an elevator DAF
10. The first meeting with Tanya FRWL
11. The “14 months later” opening shot DAD (they didn't have DAD in the voting)
12. The remote control car chase TND
13. The avalanche OHMSS (toss-up between that and the ski chase, really)
14. Down the rabbit hole YOLT
15. Bond’s arrival in Cuba DAD
16. Helga’s death by piranha YOLT
17. The foot chase through Junkanoo TB
18. Bond pops a balloon TLD
19. The fight with Xenia in the pool GE
20. Footchase through the pyramids TSWLM
21. Love scene with Paris TND
22. Thames boat chase TWINE
23. The “hay” scene with Pussy GF
24. The Afghani air base raid TLD
25. The satellite dish fight GE (we match)

Good ones... I don't know if this is a Bond moment but the helicopter tracking shot of Bond's rooftop fight in YOLT is a nice movie moment. Great shot.

Bond's reply of "I must be dreaming." to Pussy Galore's introduction.

Bond's arrival back in London in DAD. The first time I heard a rock song (not written for the movie) used in a Bond film and you couldn't choose better than the Clash.

Watching a bit of NSNA the other night on AMC, I realised that a great Bond moment is in a non-Brocolli film. I am, ofcourse, referring to the videogame with Largo... no, no, no... that scene is painful. I'm referring to Bond's fight at the health clinic and his winning move, throwing the beakerful of "toxic" material in the face of his attacker.

And does a Bond moment count if Bond is not in the scene? The kitchen fight in TLD is a classsic.

I like all your choices, Coop, and I love that tracking shot in YOLT.

I always kinda enjoyed Bond's escape by running over alligators in LALD, and even though it's not really top 25 material, I always enjoyed the joke in DAF where Plenty O'Toole gets tossed out the window into the pool, then the thugs tell Bond they didn't know there was a pool down there (then again, there's so many great moments in DAF, who can forget Bambi and Thumper and Wint and Kidd?)!

I'd have to put Bond's fight with Zorin atop the Golden Gate Bridge (AVTAK) high on the list as well. One of the best climaxes in recent memory, IMHO.
