I ask you this and I am not trying to be annoying but I am a little intoxicated as I have just watched Canadian comedian, Craig Campbell (a very funny man) play a gig in Glasgow, so I feel a little acerbic.....

Why does no one really like what I do?
Is it sterile?
Do you not think I show my characters with any emotion?
Do I bore y'all?

I am feeling a tiny bit sensitive about everything but please, to paraphrase Dr Evil, THROW ME A FRICKIN' BONE!!!

I must say that LE PIJON is a top C2F'er as he is always there with the very welcome criticisms and complements.

I fill be wine in the MA...

sorry...

I'll be OK in the morning.

Hey, Marcus, I don't think it's anything to do with the quality of your art. The unfortunate fact is that with the exception of LP, no one's been commenting on much of anything here lately (myself included, I'm sorry to say). Unless it's posted on a theme day, barely anything in the gallery gets more than one or two comments, if that. That's a damn shame, but there's very little anyone can do about it other than asking people to comment more... which doesn't tend to have much effect. I know I enjoy your recent work (thus the many front page nods you've gotten), and I very much doubt I'm the only one.

Thanks, Marcus... I love getting positive reviews of my reviews  but let me give credit where it's due, to the mods and admins who actually dedicate their time to making this such a cool site (applause) . Me? I just post a few reviews when I have a little spare time. Still, thanks for the appreciation.

I think you're probably a whole lot more well liked than you realize. It seemed to me at the time I first came here that folks were slow to warm up to my 3D stuff too. First, you might want to gauge interest based on the number of views of the message board for the pieces (on the UIR main page). Generally, if people are interested enough to look at the comments, they probably like your pics but often they will not leave a comment. As an example, I recently received a review of a pic I posted over 6 months ago (thanks again, darthrobo! )... it was the third person (besides myself) to comment on it. I had recieved 233 viewings of my message boards and got comments from 3 people!! Ideally, the way the UIRs should work is we all comment on each others work. In other words, there's a good chance that if you give reviews, you'll get reviews though there's no guarantees. You know, the few people (for whom I'm very grateful; thanks guys! :D ) who are good enough to come and review my work are all people whose work I've reviewed and supported myself.

Mostly, I want to say, don't get discouraged, man. You've been doing some really kick ass work here. You know when I first started posting here back in the middle of Feb, it seemed like I was the only guy doing 3D. Now, it seems like every new gallery posting has at least two or three 3D pics and more 3D artists are posting here all the time, even some of the old 2D guys are throwing out some 3D. Let the 3D revolution begin!

Dude, the eyes totally do it all here-really convey the craziness of our boy Jack in this piece. And LP's right, you shouldn't be so harsh on yourself if nobody leaves a comment. God, you should see how melancholic I get when one of my pieces gets rejected (it's happened, I know.) You consistently bring your A-game to the table, and I'm not even that much a fan of CGI-type artwork. The only thing you can do is keep on doing what it is you do as best as you can, and just know that even if people aren't saying anything, at least you know they're seeing it. And ain't that really the point here?

And someday, I might listen to my own advice on this.
