Damn! You really love throwing out these old things that are tons better than anything most of us mere mortals can do now, don't you? Stupid redneck. :P This is cool, as usual. Great costuming, as usual, and I really like that gun. Looks cool. The background somewhat hurts the pic, it's too obviously a Bryce quickie and would benefit from post production. It works though, and it's a cool idea using symmetrical latices for floating islands. And the manipping itself is so gorgeous that the background doesn't really matter. Damn you, Jr. Damn you. :D

Actually, I'm gonna disagree with ya on this one, B. I think perhaps it's your extreme familiarity with Bryce which may bias your opinion. Admittedly, that background just screams Bryce to anyone who knows and uses it (still, a startling surprise to see it in JR McD piece) but I really think it compliments and fits with the foreground photo so seamlessly, it's a little scary. It's actually a pretty decent Bryce render all it's own with enough going on to keep it interesting. You know, I really find myself spending a long time staring at these old JR McD pieces in slack jawed fascination and amazement. I really like that you've been including your base photos with these for two reasons, first because I can compare the two and see exactly all the amazing additions that have been made and secondly, so I don't say something stupid like, "I don't think the long ponytail you added looks realistic." It's always great to see somebody with professional chops doing stuff they like for the sheer enjoyment of it. Man, it sure is taking me a long time to say this looks incredible.
BTW, good interview in the spotlight too.
Just to clarify, I think the CONCEPT of the background fits the foreground character fine, but I also think the obvious CGishness (and maybe I am just too familiar with Bryce, I dunno) is really out of place in comparison to the more photorealistic manipping. And I know Jr well enough to know he can do better. Of course, I also know him well enough to know how lazy he is when it comes to backgrounds and to know that we're lucky we got anything at all, so I guess I'll stop complaining. ;)

B-You crack me up. And just to let you know... this was the first and last render I ever did in bryce.... Stupid bryce... (If I knew how to use it I am sure I would love it.)
Thanks for the comments guys.
