Who is you fav Bond villian? And Why!

As for me, it's Donovan "Red" Grant- the fight scene in FRWL is the best ever and even though he got teargassed he nearly killed Bond- very good scene in which you just aren't sure for a split second whether Bond will make it or not.

Absolutely agree with that.

I also like a few of Drax's moments. "Look after our guest, see that some harm comes to him." etc.

Red Grant is great.

My favorites are Rosa Klebb, because she has SUCH scary shoes, and she is so disturbing, and the invisible Blofeld from FRWL, & TB, because invisible is scary. I think the faceless villain petting the cat is one of THE iconic images of movie history.

I'm gonna go with Auric Goldfinger. Great name. Great sidekick. Great method of eliminating those who cross him. Great villianous scheme and, last but not least, best Bond villian quote ever. "I expect you to die, Mr. Bond!" You can't top that.

Alec Trevelyan is also a favorite. I loved that he was an ex-00 and had a personal relationship with Bond and that Bond felt personally betrayed by him.

If you want to get technical, I guess I'd consider Red Grant more of a henchman than a true villain.

By that standard, I would agree that Grant is my favorite henchman, just because the train scene in FRWL is one of my absolute favorite Bond fight scenes.

As for true villain, I'd have to say my favorite is Scaramanga. I loved the blend of personal/not personal in his relationship with Bond. Besides, who doesn't love a villain with a third nipple? :D

Okay then--for me, Scaramanga is one of the few villains (as opposed to henchmen) who really radiates a sense of menace. He's scary scary, as opposed to silly scary, a la Carver in TND.

You guys are approaching this the wrong way. Red Grant? Goldfinger? Scaramanga? Come on . . . if you're talking "favorite" villain, how can you not mention Xenia Onatopp (Famke Janssen) from "GoldenEye?" Now THAT's a "favorite" (rowr!) villain!

There's a few that I really liked; Scaramanga, Grant, Zorin, Sanchez; but I'm picking Trevelyan for my top spot.

Well, two of us "guys" are girls, so maybe we're not wrong, just ourselves.

D'oh! Sorry about that. I was thinking "favorite" is not the same thing as "best" villain. I've always had a "thing" for Famke Janssen ever since she was on a ST:TNG episode.

kara,

I'm gonna admit my ignorance right here. I obviously know that you are a woman. But I didn't know that anyone else in the 007 forum is.

Speaking of villains though... when was the last time Bond faced an odd sidekick/henchman character... like Oddjob or Nicknack? .... as a matter of fact, I think Nicknack was the last "unusual" Bond villianous sidekick.

This may be the first time this sentence was ever written but.... I don't think Grace Jones was weird enough. ... to count in the question I raised.

The way these Bond films fluctuate between gritty and dark, and then fantastic and overblown, one thing I may be interested in seeing again is a unique villianous sidekick.

How 'bout havin' James Bond get sucked into an alternate reality, where he has to defeat super villain James T. Kirk and his sadistic sidekick, Mr. Spock? That "unique" enough for ya?

:)

Jaws had those teeth
Renard was "deformed" by his inability to feel
Kauffman was pretty weird

That's the BEST idea ever!
Kirk: Mister Bond...come aboard...my startship. As you can see...there...IS NO...escape.
Spock: It would be illogical not to do what the captain says, Mister Bond.
Bond: I think I get the point, like your ears.

Of course, there has to be a scene somewhere with Kirk yelling "BOOOOOOOOOOOOOOND!"

Rosetta use to post around here, but havent seen her around for a while. She was a mod for the lounge some time ago aswell.

Alternate reality Kirk and Spock, you say?? Hmmmmmmmm..... That just MIGHT work!!

And Kara, thanks for the Jaws reminder. I never liked Jaws. I can take Oddjob and his metal bowler but not Jaws' metal teeth.

Speaking of Kauffman; I loved that scene from TND. A good creepy little performance. Reminded me of something from The Avengers.

I'm a fan of alternate universe stories, as long as they aren't hokey.

My big dream right now is that the Battlestar Galactica series will end with the fleet finding Earth, and that Earth is of the 24th century. "This is Capt. Jean-Luc Picard of the Federation starship Enterprise to unknown vessel, you have entered restricted space, please identify yourself."

The Federation then KICKS THE CYLONS BUTTS!

I always thought Kamal Khan was a very under-rated villian, and Goldfinger was very over-rated.

I would love to see rosetta back here again too - - like myself, we've both been absent from the forums for too long. I'm still in touch with her periodically though, so I'll mention it to her that she's missed!

As for my favourite villian, nothing tops Zorin for me. Pure sinister and evil! And I hope we see another worthy sidekick again soon!
