Pink Bats

I am watching a baseball game on TV, Washington v.s. Atlanta. Marcus Giles led off for the Braves, and HE WAS SWINGING A PINK FREAKING BAT!

Apparently, the Braves are helping a charity and are going to sign and auction off the pink bats after the game. That's all well and good, but there are some things you don't ask of major league baseball players, and asking them to use a pink bat is one of them. They could have done something else for money, if you know what I mean.

The color pink was chosen as funds from this will help support breast cancer awareness and pink (as in pink ribbon) is the signature color for this movement.

My beloved Braves... They may have a wonderful social conscience this season, but as far as swinging and hitting anything... not so much. I am just hoping that they get their stuff together by the All-Star break and come back late in the season.

It's just not the Braves it's MLB. About 15 vplayers will use them today. Jeter, Ortiz are just a few . It goes to the Susan G. Coreman (?) Breast cancer .
