Well, I have to admit last night's episode ALMOST made me forget about the lack of a backup recording. (Although, at the very least, they could have had Jack play the recording for the folks at CTU without affecting the plot in the least. And there's no reason Miles couldn't have destroyed a backup, too, or they could have given some gobbledygook techy reason why a backup couldn't "prove" anything. <grumble>)

Anyway, overlooking the failure to address that obvious stupidity, this was a great episode: a last, immediate threat to address; Henderson's maybe-yes/maybe-no cooperation; and, most excellent, Aaron's survival and Martha Logan with a gun! I was soooo glad they didn't kill Aaron off, and to hear him give Logan a dressing down, calling him "Charles," just made me want to jump up and cheer.

Oh, plus it looks like there will be happy ending for Jack this season either--too many people want him dead. I can't wait for the final two hours next week.

That was the BEST! I LOVED that moment so much - it rocked!

But um, guys? I have a speculative theory to share.
Feel free to correct me and shoot the idea down with Chloe's tazer zapper.

Thinking back on quite a few points throughout this season,
I'm beginning to strongly suspect Chloe is another mole. It's an idea
that's been nagging at the back of my mind for the last two months,
and certain events continue to come up supporting it - supposedly.
Remember the first episode when Jack found Palmer's assassin? And
Chloe started gunning him down until Jack told her to stop? Was she
shooting in defense, or to kill him to keep him from sharing information?

Then there's her "moment of shag" during the first ep when she woke up
regretting sleeping with Spenser Wolff. Knowing what we learned of his
connection with the White House (which could also prove a point to how
they learned of Jack being alive via Chloe keeping secret tabs with him
so he can know how his little girl is doing),
was there another connection between Spenser and Chloe?
Yes, he did take advantage of her access codes in CTU, but if Chloe is
the ultimate mole, it sure does take any attention and heat away from her,
doesn't it?

Then there's all the talk about there being no copy made... as
brilliant a tech mind as Chloe is, you'd think she'd think of the idea of making a copy herself, no? But I'm beginning to wonder if she deleted it herself.
Okay. Fine. Maybe she isn't a mole. She's done a lot of good for Jack
and CTU, but still. The idea of Miles deleting the recording seems a bit
of a red herring to throw us off. The confidence all of CTU and Jack
has for her is deeply rooted. She's proven herself. She can
do things unnoticed as a mole. No one would suspect her.

There is that old saying - "Keep your friends close. And your enemies closer."

Well? Whadday think? And believe me, when I brought this up last night
to my wife, she looked at me incredulously, and told me NO WAY.
She may be right. But, I dunno. :dunno:

Traz, I don't think your theory is true ... but the fact that you can make it sound plausible just proves that anything is possible on "24," which is why we love it so much!

the only thing that bothers me that may make your idea true...how do Logan's guys keep finding out information?
Like when Jack took over the plane, how were they able to find out what he was doing when he was ona supposed "secure" line?
There have been other things too that could suggest your idea to be true.....although it may not be who you said it is...there is definitely a mole.
