Miami Tops Auto Club List for Rude Drivers (http://news.yahoo.com/s/ap/20060516/ap_on_re_us/road_rage)

I live among the courteous cities, apparently. :ohwell:
However, it's a clear sign that they blatantly ignored the NASCAR
training grounds that is I-285 circling Atlanta. :angry
Really. In a few weeks, your drafting skills will rival Earnhardt's.

Yes, Los Angeles has it's share of rude drivers, but the real issue here isn't rudeness, it is just too many freaking cars and too many people who aren't clear on the concept that there are traffic laws (English isn't their first language, let's say), and those laws apply to them. What some might consider "rudeness" is really just a disproportionate number of drivers who are mercifully free from the ravages of intelligence and common (or "any," for that matter) sense. They aren't being deliberately rude, just clueless.

Pittsburgh is known more for it's overly cautious drivers. Due in small part to the "Pittsburgh Left"

From
Driving in Pittsburgh (http://pittsburgh.about.com/cs/transportation/a/getting_around_3.htm)

Essentially, this means that when you are stopped at the front of a line of cars at a red light and the car across from you has its left turn-signal on, they are going to expect you to let them go first. This tradition began because most streets in Pittsburgh are narrow and are also filled with parked cars, allowing for only one lane of traffic in each direction. Therefore someone waiting to turn left at a light is going to hold up their entire lane of traffic, unless someone lets them through. It's known as the "Pittsburgh Left" because it is not only tolerated in this area, it's expected. Try it in any other city in the country and you're bound to get a good number of irate drivers flipping you off.

And of course there are the tunnels. Most of your bottlenecking occurs at or before a tunnel but once you come out the other side it's clear for miles. Makes you wonder where the problem was.

Being a college town, we've got our usual number of clueless drivers here, but I thought that we had pretty courteous drivers. Until a coupla days ago, when apparently it was crappy driver day.

I was driving home from work and traffic was slow on the highway because of a fender bender up ahead. A fire truck was coming up behind me in the left lane, so I and the cars in front and behind all pulled over to the right to let him pass. Except for one a**hole, who decided that we were moving for him so he shot into the left lane and sped past us to get ahead, completely cutting the fire truck off. That was bad driver #1.

#2 came at the next light at a busy intersection. A long line of cars was turning left, sometimes having to slow or even stop because there were so many and they were being held up by the next light. I saw at least 3 people almost rear-end the person in front of them, then honk and get pissed off like it wasn't their fault they weren't paying attention.

Finally, bad driver #3. On the way to the next light, the guy behind me suddenly sped up and drove around me to make it through a yellow light that I wasn't going to make. He ended up having to stop right next to me and actually glared at me like it was my fault the light changed. I've rarely seen bad drivers around here, but this all happened in the space of about 10 minutes! WTF?!? Was there some "bad driver" holiday I wasn't made aware of?
