Empire of Dreams anyone?

I've caught this a copule time - A&E right?

This was pretty good, a lot of background info and behind the scenes stuff you wouldn"t know - like the bit about them shooting out the back door of a hotel into a snow driven field for the Luke Skywalker - Hoth scenes.

I notived, however, a lot of footage already contained on a VHS tape from about 10 years ago I have called (I beleive) "The making of Star Wars"

Still pretty cool though.

Empire of Dreams is also a special feature in the STAR WARS trilogy box set. It is a little bit longer than the A&E version.



They released the old "Making of STAR WARS" again back in 95 on VHS. There was a promotion on the back of STAR WARS cereal, it was free with a couple of proofs of purchase of the cereal. It does have alot of simular spots that EMPIRE has. It also came on T.V. back in the day like the JEDI special hosted by Hammil.

It was more about RETURN OF THE JEDI than anything from what I recall. The biggest thing I can remember about it was all the sketches and models of what they wanted Jabba to look like. It was also where I learned about the Jabba scene in ANH. I had it recorded on VHS but there is no telling where it is now. I've never seen it for sale, much less DVD.

Empire of Dreams has inspired me to start my own project that I want to make into a TV series. I was able to see how it is done by watching that special. It requires a good idea, a lot of work, and help. Well, my friend and I have a great idea, and we've got some help.

What is left is the work, and we've begun that. I recommend watching this special, as it is very illuminating. If you have a dream, you're the one that has to make it work.

The one hosted by Hamill? Are you guys referring to "From Star Wars to Jedi?"

I have that on VHS from years ago.

But I have that as well , really fun nastalgia to watch. The full version of the A&E special that aired in '04' is on the newest triogy box set mate . . .

I have the trilogy box set which has the expanded Empire of Dreams, but I didn't recall the doc hosted by Hamill. The only one I knew of was "From Star Wars to Jedi" that was released back in 85. It also featured the original shots of Declan Mullholland as Jabba in docking bay 94

That's the only one I have & know of hosted by Hamil. I also have 'The Making of Star Wars' hosted by Ar-2 & 3po. It so cheesy , its terrific!!!!
