So I saw this little gem tonight, and I've gotta say that I haven't laughed this hard during a movie in quite some time. Dreamworks finally scores a big one without resorting to pop culture references that were dead 3 years before the movie was released (see Shrek, Shrek 2 and Hoodwinked for examples) by actually having a story and characters that are funny.

Hammy absolutely steals the movie. Hands down. Bruce Willis goes back to his old Moonlighting persona for his stint as RJ the racoon, and Garry Shandling (whom I've always found extremely annoying and nauseating, personally) is actually okay as Verne the turtle.

The animation is cool, the texturing is awesome, the story works very well, and the characters have distinct personalities and grow.

Rating: Full price ticket for multiple viewings. I know a movie is good when I want to see it again after just having watched it.

I saw it last night as well...excellent comedy. I thought Garry Shandling fell a little flat in his portrayal of Vern the turtle, but other than that, most of voicing was good (Eugene Levy and Catherine O'Hara as the porcupines and Steve Carrell as the insane squirrel were great). I don't know if it would be worth full ticket price to see again...it was only 75 minutes of actual movie after all...but I'd definitely reccommend it in the theater.

Great film, I went with my girlfriend lastnight and was a lot more pleased than I thought I would be. Afterall, seeing Ice Age 2 when it came out was rather disappointing. But Over The Hedge was a great film, Dreamworks nailed it with this one. My only problem with the movie was its length, they could have pushed it at least another 30 minutes, afterall, with nighttime tickets costing close to around 10 bucks, it gets expensive to take the girl out to see a movie just barely over an hour long. But it'll make a good DVD when it comes out, because of its short length you can watch it repeatably and still get good value out of it

And as of this morning Hedge has already earned in 37 million, with the Code bringing in around 77 million so far.

SHANDLING is the man. One note, but STILL the man.
