Post counting is not allowed in the new boards.
Didn't you read the rules?
And no slouching either. It's bad for your posture.
It does kind of suck that my count is like 3. It took me over a year just to get to 100 the last time.

If it's a matter of keeping the board functioning smoothly, I'll stop complaining. Will too many smilies in simultaneous use slow the board? I know nothing of this wondrous new software, save that it is new. And shiny.
If slowdowns aren't a problem, I'd think 20 smilies is a nice round number. It's enough to play with, but not so many that you could fill more than one line of the bulletin board with them.

The game of "Ice Hockey" shall be played on an ice surface known as the "RINK."
(NOTE) There shall be no markings on the ice except as provided under these rules without the express written permission of the League. On-ice logos must not interfere with any official game markings.
It is dry reading though.

Ditto - the Sabres are about an hour west and we have their local farm team here.
Honestly, I just don't get the fighting. In any other major sport they're fined and suspended for it, but in this league they're encouraged. Kinda pointless in my view.
Scotia
01-29-2006, 07:55 PM
Jesus, you folks have it made. I have to travel 12 hours to Boston to catch game. And the Bruins are hideous.
As for the fighting, yeah it's pointless. More tradition now than anything else. The league has cracked down on a lot of it, but, it clings to the sport and continues to paint it as a game for goons. Which is a shame. Just look at players like Staal and Crosby and you can see how sweet the game really is. And Crosby is outstanding, just a magician with the puck. I watched him play minor hockey against guys 4 and 5 years his senior and he dominated. He is for real.
I'm into the Olympics aswell. Especially short track speed skating. Now, thats a sport I would like to see more often on TV. Very exciting to watch. And the wipeouts are something else.

Puns? I love word play. And dictionaries. Nothing is more fun than to look up a word and find out it means something completely different than what you thought it meant. Or to find words that look innocent but mean something dirrrrty. Like "mirkin." That's the word of the day today. Find out its real definition and then post a word of your own. That would be a fun game.:D

Goodness, I believe a "mirkin" is a wig, or more correctly, a female afro for the nether regions. Very popular with 70's period pieces, I would imagine.
Here's mine. What is a rusty trombone?

What is with all this sports talk? Why are we not discussing the true pastimes of our collective society? Such wonderious inventions as synchronized mountain goat herding or the ancient art of gentlemen's fisticuffs?

I could see how that would be amusing. Do you perfer salt or fresh water arenas?

Fresh water is okay...for amateurs.
To really experience underwater basket weaving at it's finest, it needs to take place in salt water and surrounded by sharks.

Do the sharks have laser guns on their heads?
DaForce

But of course they have frickin laser guns on their heads.
Even sharks are entitled to a warm meal every now and then.

Mmmmm, sandwiches.
I think I shall have a tuna sandwich for lunch. With just a smidge of light mayo and pickle relish.
It's not tuna salad without the pickle relish.
