hrm, why is that?
It was always such a good time at the CA forums.
Great discussions and a really good sense of community, when so many other message boards were noise and posturing the CA boards were a nice place to go.
In the end I suppose whats done is done but I want to wrap my head around why such a great place would be forgotten.

It happened in the end because it ceased to be what had made it so great. It went from being an online community where a multitude of discussions took place on a virtually unlimited variety of topics to being a sandbox with a shouting match between the zombies that had infested and inhabited it in its last days. A poisoned tree only bears poisoned fruit.

French poison killed it, but it was dying, anyway. Plus...Patrick stopped paying the bill.

Meh. More like Patrick cut the tree down.
:(
A gradual but sad fate that was...

sickness says it best. Some long stories are best left untold, especially by those who do and do not know the details.
CA is where i got my start 6 years ago, and i've met many a wonderful and a few awful people. Patrick pulled the plug when he saw that nothing good could no longer come from CA. He was done with Cinescape as well, and has gone on to other endeuvors.
The communities of both CA and cinescape have evolved in the weirdest way these last 3 years, in good ways and bad.
Thats about all that can be said really.

I still rock the muthafuckin' house, bitch.
Yes, Jake, you sure do. :D Besides, there's a lot of us from CA on the Cinescape forums anyways. It's like the CA extended family now.
Cncrman
05-24-2006, 07:38 AM
Let's get it straight, it's more like the extended family is actually made up of horribly disfigured mutants caused by CA inter-breeding.
I was trying to be polite.

Why bother on formalities Kah? :D
Why bother on formalities Kah? :D
Fine. You want to be honest? We are all fucking wacked. The closing of CA broke something in our brains, and now we just wait around Cinescape like a bunch of labotamized vultures for Jake to say something offensive, or to ooohh and ahhh at one of Boki's masterpieces, or to hang on every word in a Traz rant, so we have something interesting to fill our little lives.
Well, at least I speak for me. :o lol. I stay at home and hope that someone has something interesting to say here, or at least something worth arguing over, because I just can't take all this solitude. Yes, I have my son, but he's not much of a conversationalist, and my bf and I don't share interests, so I basically need you guys to keep me this side of psychotic.
There, Cncr. Are you happy now?

I was on the CA boards for several years (in the late 90's) but not as this username...
Was it open in the late 90's? Not doubting you, but I thought it opened summer of 2000. Pretty sure the first posters, Wookie, et al were registered in Aug 2000. I remember because I didn't want to sign up because I always disliked the fighting and attacks that went on in most message boards but eventually saw that CA was different and registered, the first time, in Nov 2000.
Then went to make the ill fated X-Men forum my home :)
Also I didn't know Pat had left Cinescape. Time they are a changin :)

Yeah, although most people couldn't see it until many moons after it even happened. I remember posting in here about this time last year (on the previous board) that the inattentiveness toward the board (for well over a year) and the lack of updates on the site added up to Pat moving on to greener pastures. I took a lot of shit for saying that and now, since it's come back up, I say you numbskulls can all lick my sweaty nutsack. Doubt me, will you?
And when Jarrod is ready to give up his post, I'll be the first to tell you that, too.

I tell ya Since he has taken over, people must be getting their Cinescape Mags now because its been a while since one of those whiny"Where is my Issue" posts.
Sometimes I wonder about the inner workings that Is Cinescape.

...... I didn't want to sign up because I always disliked the fighting and attacks that went on in most message boards but eventually saw that CA was different and registered........:)
Same here, after jumping ship off the floating turd that was IMDb's message boards, my first indoctrination to this wierd netherworld. I was working from home at the time. CA seemed much cozier, but like any little community, it took staying there to become familiar with people, and now....four years later....I know quite a few people all over the world, talk on phone with several, have met several.....there WERE the troublemakers and asswipes, though....and the specialised forums had their lion's share of idiot fanboys ( hence the closing of the X-men forum)...and the stupid melodrama that took place thanks to a few who shall remain nameless. :)
but overall, a great group of people, most of whom made it here, some who have not and I miss seeing. :(
There was no stench, Os. No more so than that little twat who called himself American here at Cin., and a couple others who I don't really remember or pay attention to.

Good to know.
This is actually my first post ever at Cinescape...I think, pretty sure about that. I kinda refused to post over here for several reasons, most of which had to do not so much with the cheese eating surrender monkey (said with much love to all those who are not the person in question) that everyone tiptoes around the name of but more to do with the people who constantly taunted him, to me they were the worse offenders.
So who knows, I may stay because so far, everyone who has responded has been a class act :)
Oh and on the CA boards I was Scott Shaolin, oft time lurker, some time poster.

Hey, Scott! Welcome. I was Haywood back at the old digs. You're one of the few posters whose love for X-Men combined with a cool temperment and respect for others made me sad to see the X-Forum bite the big one.
Anyway, good to see you give Cinnerland a try.
