That is about everything wrapped up in a nutshell.

The thing I am confused about is hearing how time and time again we hearthat the script is kept under tight wraps, yet everything I saw in the trailer and what some of the actors have been saying points to the rumors of that leaked script being real. Either Fox is being sneaky and pulling the biggest prank ever, or they are in serious denial about how much the public knows on this film.
Personally, given how rushed the film is, I'm starting to believe they are using the leaked script but denying it so people will still go see this film.

I don't know. Despite some coolness (Beast and the Fastball Special), I'm starting to worry that we've got another Batman and Robin in the works here.

*Spoilers? Maybe. **

Personally, I'm having a problem wrapping my head around the lack of Cyclops in all these released images and such. Haven't even seen him in a costume yet. As my favorite X-Man though, I really hope these rumours of him dying are false and that maybe he's just left the team for the time being (like in the comics).

Cyclops has a pretty raw deal in the movie versions because all he really does is put his hand to his visor, what else can he do?

If he is killed off then (action wise) it's probably for the best?

I've got no problem if it's an honourable death, One worthy of the heart and soul of the X-Men. But then, they really haven't done anything in the previous movies to show any sort of real respect towards Summers, so why would they show any such respect towards him in death? Granted, part of this problem is the fact that the movies revolve heavily around Logan, but even when Cyke had his chance to shine, he came off like an idiot. (The Statue of Liberty scene comes to mind)

and then, comes the Dark Phoenix, a storyline that could propel Cyclops towards the sort of stardom Wolverine has enjoyed. and the rumours start spreading that he'll die in the first quarter of the movie? Why? Because Halle Berry wants Storm to be the leader of the team?

I'd definately rather just have him leave the team than die, leaving it open for him to return if more movies are made.

If the rumors are true, then Cyke goes out like a punk anyway. "What, Jean? You can control your powers? Well, I dunno. I guess I'll trust you and take off my visor." Next scene is Cyke being demoleculized. Jean Grey accidentally kills him. There's a blaze of glory for you. I really hope this was all disinformation.

From what I hear Pryde, you are correct. And Cyclop's death at the hands of Jean's/Pheonix's new powers are only to forshadow how she uses them on purpose later on to off another X-man. A waste of a character indeed. Perhaps more than one.
:romy:

I have heard all the rumors/speculation on who dies and who looses their powers. And with the newest trailer, most of it seems spot on.

SinisterPryde, it is my contention that FOX is trying to be slick, but I wouldn't call it the bigget prank ever, just copy cats. Spiderman is the biggest and most anticipated comic book movie out there, and Sony for that matter is the best at keeping a lid on pertinent info, better than The FBI, CIA, NSA, and HLS(Homeland Security). So I think FOX is trying to be like Sony by claiming their script and Info is so super secretive, when in fact the couldn't keep a lid on a jar of grape jam. Many fans, particular X-Men fans feel this movie is rushed with all the changes going on with directors and producers, and script changes. Besides, most was hoping for "The Dark Phoenix Saga" and Sentinels, which we know we want be getting. So to generate some buzz, because quite frankly, this movie may not do as well as the first two, they're trying to pull a page out of Sony book of secretcy.

As for old Cykes, at this point, who cares.... they never portrayed him as a leader anyway, Halle had nothing to do with that. If anything, James should have follow Halle in demanding a more significant role or else for christ sake... he Cyclops. Apparently he didn't do any research on his character or even know who Cyclops is, because he would have had a great argument like what Halle did. He is obvious comfortable in his role and his performance shows. So since they have been portraying Cykes as really a non-factor, good riddance. They, IMO, have done a pist-poor job portraying many of these charactes, both Heros and Villains, except for Prof. X and Wolvy(not Logan, because Logan would have tried to bone every female in both movies)

They've been doing reshoots in Vancouver, I wonder if any major scenes have been changed.

James Marsden could have argued about a larger role, but, well, he's James Marsden. Halle Berry is an Oscar winning actress with some pull, while James is that "Guy who plays Cyclops" and was in "Disturbing Behavior". As much as I would love to have seen Cyclops shine, I think if James had argued the role we would have seen someone else getting vaporized.

Quite frankly, that's exactly what we are seeing, because he has very little if not nothing to do with this film. BTW, FOX was ready to pull Halle, at least they was posturing like they were; but they were looking at other African Americans to fill her part. It's been said that Hollywood really don't take Halle serious, they control her, like they control most.
