I have to say that I don't like it. I mean, yeah, it's pretty cool looking, but frankly, I thought the earlier, supposed Venom designs were better (where his symbol and stuff were like, 'imprinted' on his costume, like silly putty).

Ugh. I don't really like it at all. If you look at the waist and elbow areas it comes across like a leather body suit with some funky designs on the chest and a fright mask.

I don't want to get too negative because it may translate much better onscreen, but it just doesn't look organic enough, which has always been my biggest concern with bringing Venom to the big screen.

Yea, Venom does kind of look like he’s wearing a long sleeve shirt and jeans in this picture, but I think that might be because of the way the sculptor designed it. On ign.com, they have a picture of the original Spider-Man toy (the red and blue one) and this new Venom toy. When you look at the original toy, Spider-Man still looks like he’s wearing the same long-johns and gloves as Venom. Again, I think it was just the sculptor using a little artistic freedom when they designed the toys with sleeves and deep folds in the costume. Here's the link: http://comics.ign.com/articles/755/755091p1.html

That being said, I agree with Norrin when he claimed that Venom doesn’t look organic enough. What happened to that slimy, gooey look from the comics? That was one of his most distinctive features next to his tongue if you ask me.

Remember guys, this is an "action figure" based on the new Venom design for SpiderMan 3. If you check out the SideShow website, all their 12'' figures have "shirt and pant" on. I'm sure that on screen it will look alot more organic. I am a little disapointed in the lower jaw. I was a big fan of the original McFarlane design that had that huge extending jaw. Oh well, at least he's finally coming to the big screen.

Yeah, the figure is actually wearing clothes over the plastic. This is just one of those lame action figures with "real clothing!" Nothing to get bent out of shape over. I'm sure the movie Venom is not going to have sleeves that inexplicably end at his wrists.
