Realistically speaking, Eko should have died when the dynamite blew up. But who knows if he and Locke made it! I'd be very surprised if Desmond survived.

Just a thought: since the Others' hatch is a fake, does this mean that the Others are involved with Dharma, or that they stumbled upon it like the survivors?

Oh, in case anyone is interested, I was trained as an opera singer, and the music Desmond was listening to in his boat is from Le Nozze di Figaro. That's Mozart's opera "the Marriage of Figaro," and the aria is called "Voi Che Sapete." It translates roughly as "You who Know," and it's sung by the character of Cherubino. He's basically asking anyone who knows what love is to please explain it to him. That's right. HIM. We all heard a woman singing. This is an operatic tradition popular in Mozart's time in which a woman would sing the part of a pubescent or pre-pubescent male. Although it seems weird to most modern folk, people in Mozart's time wouldn't have bat an eye at it.

Oh, anyone else catch Desmond's name? Desmond David Hume. David Hume - yet another philosopher. I read him in Freshman Year, in my Modern European Thought class, and I absolutely remember NONE of it. Darn brain. :-)

Eko, Locke and Desmond will all survive but the explosion of electromagnetic energy will have turned them into mutants! Locke will once again be wheelchair bound but have the compensation of being telepathic and having mind control powers, Desmond will have a superior sense of smell, retractible claws and a healing factor and Eko will be able to control the weather but will have trouble adjusting to the fact that he is now a woman.:D

Meanwhile it will be revealed that Walt has been genetically engineered by the Others into a werebuffalo who has eaten his traitorous bastard of a father.:D

Oh and Jin and Sun will be perplexed when she gives birth to an aardvark.
