Wow. Just. Wow.
I gotta say, I'm sold. Just about everything looks fantastic here.
I heard some people complain that Stark came across as a jerk. I think they forget that this is pre-Iron Man Stark before the accident. Downey looks great.
The suits look fantastic. They added some detail to the Mark 1, but it still looks like the classic original armor.
The final one, both real and cg, looks great. That scene with the jets. Blorg. Fantastic.
Here's hoping this does turn out to be as good as it looks and it sets the bar for future Marvel films. This is the first Marvel produced film where they didn't go to Fox or Sony or someone else. Here's hoping this is a start of a new golden age for Marvel films.

I can't remember the last Marvel movie I was think excited over. I guess maybe Daredevil, but that was a HUGE letdown. That made me gun shy about comics movies again. Yet I'm still getting excited for this one. I guess that this is a Marvel controlled film, the first of its kind, has me hoping again.

Dammit. I want this movie out tomorrow!
As the first Marvel produced movie, this is one hell of a good sign of things to come.

First, to Robbo:
Thanks much for posting that link to where I could see the footage. Many thanks!
As for the actual footage, I have to say, that due to the fact that I am STILL on dial-up, the footage was a little too dark for me to view anything, really, in that cave sequence, but I did enjoy the stuff that I saw of Tony Stark when he's addressing that crowd about Stark Industries etc etc.....and I liked what I saw of the armor itself. I always thought that Downey Jr. was a real find for this role, and I think it's a role that will show people, once again, what a good actor can do in a role in which some folks might think, "AAAHHH, so what?? Another comic book movie, who cares??!" Very similar to what happened when Christian Bale took the role in "Batman Begins......" there were some people who felt that another Batman film wasn't a big deal.........until they saw Bale's interpretation of the Bruce Wayne/Batman character. I think the same will be for THIS film........Marvel's own, "Live action comic film grounded in reality" concept.........which can only be helped by as talented an actor as Downey Jr.

Man this movie can't come out soon enough. I wasn't too sure about the Black Sabbath music - felt it slowed things down a little but thankfully everything else fell nicely into place. Great stuff!!!

No kidding. I was at the ComicCon panel with Jon, Robert et all... Man that was inspiring. Jon's passion for the character and film are showing in the footage
This is THE film of 2008

I wasn't at the ComicCon, but I can see, just through interviews and through the footage that I saw with Favreaux in it, that Ashley is correct. His passion for the character and the entire project shine through. As more and more trailers come out for it, as well, we are going to see his passion level get even GREATER for this. I like the newer things that are getting online as well.......the last trailer that they put out there is great!
