View Full Version : RIP Mike Wieringo
Mike Wieringo, a well-known comic book artist with works under his belt such as "Fantastic Four" and "Superman: Birthright" has passed away due to apparent heart failure.
This makes me so sad to hear about. I never knew the guy personally, but he was certainly among my favorite artists out there. I've heard people say he was a really funny and kind person, and I don't doubt it a bit. Back when Wizard did their monthly drawing tutorials, I remember a couple of his being among my favorites, to both follow and just to read.
See ya around, Ringo!

I didn't know Mike and I don't think I've ever met him. Like many here I know him through his work, which I loved.
His passing leaves me feeling incredibly sad.
He was, at least, fortunate enough to have many friends who have written many beautiful things about him this week.

Wow, that is terrible news...
I loved Ringo's art during his and Mark Waid's run in Fantastic Four.
I wish all his family and friends my condolences during this time of loss.
Whaa....?
That's a shock and very sudden. I don't know how old he was, but he seemed like one of the hot new artists of recent times, especially with his run on Fantastic Four and the way his renditions influenced some of the FF Marvel Legends figures. That's almost kind of like someone like Greg Horn or Frank Cho or someone suddenly dying... well i don't know about those comparisons, but you get my meaning.
You never know when someone is going to just die. This is sad.
I actually missed this thread when it was first posted, though I did hear about 'Ringo's passing when it happened. It definitely sucks. He wasn't one of my absolute favourite artists, but I always greatly enjoyed his work and he definitely seems to have been a very nice guy. He'll be missed.
I believe he was 44, which is way, way too young. :(
