I just finished the book "College Retreat with Hurricane Katrina" by Aaron Stovall. This was a really good summer read, especially if your into adventure. If anyone has suggestions on good summer books let me know.

There are so many things wrong with that statement I don't know where to begin. How about- fun/Katrina/adventure?

Anyway...

I guess it depends on what you're asking for in a summer read. One of my favourite books is Fight Club by Chuck Palahniuk. It's definitely worth the read even if you've seen the movie.

I'm also a large fan of Fifth Business and I'm excited to read the next two books in the trilogy.

Just some suggestions to get you going.

Fun summer reads .... Many times I find myself re-reading old favorites rather than trying something new, just because summer can be so busy. If I get stopped two chapters into a favorite, and don't get to read again for a couple of days, then it's not as hard to get back into the book.

Yes. The Deptford Trilogy is terrific. Fifth Business is my favourite. Robertson Davies is brilliant. BTW - I know London well. I grew up in Woodstock. N

I can recommend "The Stolen Child" by Keith Donohue, which came out in May of this year. It's about a boy who is stolen by changelings and replaced with one of their own.

Also, if you like intelligent fantasy (shouldn't everyone?) you might take a look at "A Trip to the Stars" by Nicholas Christopher, which I think is a horribly underrated book.

I recommend The Princess Bride. I know... it sounds lame. Trust me it's good though. It's not just some stupid boring wedding book. It actually has some good action and adventure in it. Just try it.

That's a classic, and William Goldman did a great job translating his own novel to the screen. I read the book a few years after seeing the movie and enjoyed the same kind of puncturing of literary conventions that he employed in the screenplay.
