I just now finished watching this for the first time. I tried to find another thread about this movie, and unless I just am not using the search function properly, there isn't one.

I just love this movie! It just kept growing on me and growing on me as it went along. And the ending . . . fabulous, a truly great ending.

For some reason my emotions resonated with the film's emotions, and I fell in love with it.

Did you watch the extra ending bit (only a few seconds long) during the titles ?

I loved the books as a kid so this film was a bit special for me as well.
