Seems those crazy Cincinnati natives play a game called "cornhole". :smirks:

People may play that game up here, but if they play it in public, they stand to pay a hefty fine.

We have a few unusual slang terms up here in Wisconsin that I've been told are pretty exclusive to us. I know we've done this on the old board, but I want to do it again. Hearing about the "Cornhole" tournaments just reminded me how different we are.

I loved this bit from an article on the "sport":
Note: To shield the unassuming eyes of young readers, it's hereby decreed that anything in parentheses is invisible to those under age 21, mostly and limited to the word (beer). But it's very important to point out that (beer) is often a Cornhole staple, partly because of the game's social atmosphere and partly because players get nervous when their non-tossing hands are empty. When an errant toss nearly toppled Boomie's (beer), he informed us that knocking over someone's (beer) is the Cardinal Sin of Cornhole. Jason Schimpf of Delhi later amended the statement, saying the real sin was putting down the (beer) in the first place.

I love playing cornhole. Care for a game, kahlan? I'll even make sure not to spill your beer.

Thanks to Kimo Von Oelhoffen, this is what Carson Palmer has had to look forward to during the offseason.

Hopefully you won't pass anything while we're playing.

I am originally from Ohio, and this has become a huge craze in the past couple of years. They have contests at festivals, they play in leagues, hell my buddies have their own boards painted with their school colors on it.

All it is, is throwing bean bags into a hole cut into a sheet of plywood. Still, fun to play in the backyard with a cold beer in one hand.

Of course, it's ABSOLUTELY nothing like the game Jakester wants to play, except for the 'trying to get something in a hole' objective.

So what are these unusual slang terms? Will they make it past the censor?

I AM THE GREAT CORNHOLIO . . .

I can't say I've ever heard of this game, and I don't think it is a West Coast thang . . .

Here in L.A., the only "game" of "cornhole" that is played is in bars in West Hollywood. . . .

:)

I wasn't referring to anything dirty. (sorry:o ) Bubbler = drinking fountain. I've heard that Golden Birthdays aren't celebrated outside the midwest. You guys will have to let me know whether that is true or not.

"Golden" Birthday? Is that anything like a "golden" shower? I've never heard of a "golden birthday," and I hope I never have one! :)

yuck. no. Your golden birthday is the birthday your age is the same as the day you were born. My birthday is on the 3rd, so my golden birthday would've been my 3rd.
