Because of local preemption, Milwaukeeans viewed BIRDMAN a week later than everyone else at 6:30 AM on Saturday mornings. I got up every week to see it, even in reruns the following season, even though I was in high school, and even though the stories were hardly high-brow. But I loved it then, and I love it now, even if I can\'t say exactly why.

I\'ve never seen this cartoon. Hopefully they release Thundarr the Barbarian on dvd soon. Until then however I could deal with free bird!

...another StarChild. Charges his batteries in the warm rays of Sol just like a well known Blue & Red clad Icon of justice. Could Birman be a former resident of Krypton?

Birdman had to be the lamest of all the early Hanna-Babera super-cartoons..not so much because his Solar powers were so weak but just because he was just a poor man\'s Space Ghost. However I did truly love the Galaxy Trio...so that alone is worth the comments.

Was Birdman a Hawkman clone or was he a new character? He had a great HQ too!

I guess it\'s appropriate that you could knock me over with a feather! I certainly never expected to win, but I\'ll certainly accept and treasure it. And--in thinking more about it--the reasons I still love BIRDMAN in these days of CGI and fully-animated 2-D stuff from the likes of Timm and Dini came to mind: the wonderful Alex Toth character designs, the handsome simplicity of the gold and yellow costume, and, being a Hawkman fan as well, the wings! I\'m anxious to review the episodes featuring the dimly remembered Birdboy and the nearly forgotten Birdgirl...and wish that they\'d provided poor Roy Randall with an origin story in wish he unmasked. Anyway, thanks, Rob!
