It's been a rather un-Jarrod like year for me in the fact that I haven't gone to the theatres alot the past year. I'm not sure if it's the choices or just that I was busy doing Walmart remodel contracts quite a bit last year during the "supposed" hot season for the Studios.

My last movie watched was:

Harry Potter.

Pretty good movie. I'll put my review down in that forum.

Before that was Batman.(told you it's been a while between movies.)

Before that was Land of the Dead(Romero rules always).

"King Kong." I didn't get out much to the movies during the holiday season, so I only saw it last weekend.

Thought it was a bit long, and had trouble getting over how Naomi Campbell didn't seem cold in the middle of New York in the middle of December wearing only a filmy sleeveless dress ... but still enjoyed it. Especially T-Rex vs. Kong! That was just plain fun.

Star Wars 3.

:o

No, I don't get out much. And I have no social life either. :)

You mean Naomi Watts? King Kong would've snapped Naomi Campbell like a twig!

Last movie I saw was Brokeback Mountain.

The last movie I saw in theaters was Narnia. I saw it in mid-December a couple weeks after it came out, so it's been a while since I've been to the big screen. Been doing plenty of DVD watching though. :D

The Ringer.

FREAKING AWESOME.

And if you have any reservations about the handicapped people in the movie being treated poorly or made fun of, all you have to do is see that the Special Olympics has actually endorsed the movie. The characters portrayed as handicapped were treated with the utmost respect.

I wanted to see Hostel and Ringer.

Why haven't I done so then?

Don't answer that.

Yeah, I was one of the three people that saw the movie. At least I didn't pay to see it. Although, there was this one funny scene that I haven't seen in any other movie, and it had me laughing for about a good solid minute. If anyone wants to know, I'll post it since it's not really a spoiler.

Okay...for the big party scene (the only highlight of the movie), the three old ladies find the grandson's pot stash in a vase of their deceased roommate's room (which the grandson is now renting). They think it's tea, and brew up a pot (no pun intended).

The grandson is a videogame tester. His test crew and his new boss have gone out to celebrate the completion of working out the bugs of a new game. Long story short, they wind up back at his grandmother's place where all three old ladies are stoned out of their minds. With all the pot gone, and people wanting to get stoned, the grandson calls his friend (and dealer) to bring over more pot. His friend winds up bringing a party with him.

During the party, the grandma is making all kinds of food for the guests because she's stoned. At one point, the grandson and his boss (a really hot woman) are sitting on the floor playing video games, and the grandma is walking around with a tray of food offering it to people. She walks up to her grandson and says, "Ice cream sandwich?"

The closeup of the tray are sandwiches. A huge scoop of ice cream between two pieces of wheat bread and some lettuce.

That's what made me laugh out loud, because it was something totally unexpected, and something only a stoner would create.

There. I just saved you $8.50.

:D

"Underworld: Evolution" last weekend. Entertaining.

2 weeks before: "Memoirs of a Geisha". Nice.

2 weeks before: "King Kong". Cool!

KONG! Loved it. I was going to write a review on the old site. Probably too late now.

I would give anything to be Naomi Campbell's chained love monkey.

As far as Naomi Watts' character is concerned, I can only assume that her years of vaudeville helped her develop a rather flexible body, more than capable of withstanding shocks at g-forces that would cripple an F-15 pilot.

;)

You know I just found out Naomi Watts was in Tank Girl? Who knew!

War of the Worlds. I took my dad for his birthday (which was in April, lol) since my mom HATES the theatre. I had my son about 2 weeks after that, so I haven't been out much.

Underworld: Evolution. I pray to anyone who will listen that the next one will be called Selene vs. Blade vs. Lara Croft.

Glory Road. I wouldn't have gone if it wasn't for my church group going. And I won't be going again.

Before that...King Kong, The Producers, and Narnia. All very good.

The last movie was Underworld Evolution, and I loved it. Previously saw King Kong, not bad but not great. As an aside has anyone seen the latest trailers for Ultraviolet?

The last movie I saw was The Family Stone. It was a pretty good movie. A little better than I was expecting from some of the people. Luke Wilson and Rachel McAdams were awesome in the movie and they were the reason I went to see it.

I enjoy Racheal McAdams, she should be in more stuff. She shoulda been cast as Sue Storm in Fantastic Four.

Hostel

Extremely well done. I quite liked it. Although, I suspect Slovakian tourism may take a hit this year.

Brokeback Mountain.

Very overpowering. In fact, at the end credits, I noticed that everyone stayed in their seats for a few minutes.

Best movie I've seen all year.

I am with Bill on the movie going. That was a very good movie about Gay cowboys. It was filmed in Canada to boot. All the Brokeback stuff was the Kananaskis(sp most likely) valley and Elbow River. My dad recognised it.

Which means I went swimming where gay film cowboys had sex. Cool, eh?

It was a very moving film. My friend was crying (a female one) and I was very, very, teary eyed... but only because my contacts got dry. So I ended up crying during the opening Coke add...

The last few movies I've seen have been

Brokeback - werid that someone said that when the credits came up everyone stayed in there seats cause I noticed that too

King Kong - Really really loved it, I think Peter Jackson is amazing. Like nothing but action sequences for like 35 mintues or something and it worked

Favela Rising - I know I've brought it up in this forum. I saw it in a screening in the bronx. absoultely amazing. about a musical movement in the slums of brazil. whenever it comes out see it

Narina - I hated it but i really loved the bbc version. it was just a lord of the rings rip off. trust me in 20 years that's how it'll be remembered

Good night and good luck - felt like 2/3 of a movie but i like the 2/3 of the movie that i saw

syriana. good, a little overly liberal. there were a few lines tossed in that felt kinda silly, for instance, when matt damon's wife says to him, regarding her son getting into an argument with another kid, "let him go. let them sort out their differences on their own. it's good for their autonomy."

seriously now.
