So ends the Eccleston era and its too bad as well. He was a great Doctor, if he would have stuck with it, he could have been one of the greatest Doctors alongside of Tom Baker.
What did you guys think?

I think it was a fantastic episode, is what I think. I was moved, and I had a kind of "Tom Baker" flash on the new Doctor.

A good conclusion to the first season, although I thought the explanation of the whole "Bad Wolf" thing was paradoxical. I will miss Christopher Eccleston, he brought the greatest mix of madcap antics (or just plain madness) and toughness to the doctor. Mr. Neglet does not like the look of the new Doctor, but I will reserve judgment until I see him in action for more than a minute.

My friend and I watched this one and we were blown away by what happens to Rose and what she does, very "Dark Phoenix". I thought the regeneration would take longer, but whatev. Eccleston was fantastic. The chemistry he had with Billie Piper was wonderful to watch, and I'm kind of dreading having to re-invest in a new relationship. I have heard though that David Tennant is a great Doctor, so I'm optimistic.
On a side note, does anyone know if they're going to show the Christmas episode?
Totally there on July 4th for this season on DVD!

Paradoxical puts it mildly. There was no explanation at ALL as far as I am concerned!

Rest assured, David Tennant is a very, very capable replacement for Ecclestone. The second season is coming to a close here in the UK and has been a cracker. The chemistry between Rose and the Doctor is even better with Tennant in the role.

I have heard good things about him from my contacts in the UK, too.
(By the way, curiously, in America "cracker" means racist white person instead of "good" like it does there. It's like you Brits are speakin' a whole 'nuther langauage! Ha, ha)

I forgot about that. Doesn't it come from the sound the whips used to make back in the slave days ?
Anyway, this weeks Dr Who - season 2 in the UK was a cracker, The Satan Pit. Second part of a two parter.
