But turner is owned by Time Warner....which owns both dc comics and speedracer.
How is this even a stretch?

Turner still has to bid for the films they want to air. Warner actually offered Dark Knight to Viacom/USA Networks first, thinking they'd be best positioned to place the winning bids. Turner had to bid over the competition.
