I don't see why Wilem Defoe would be needed unless they did bring Norman Osborn back to the the living. Personally I'd rather see The Lizard and Black Cat. The Goblin story had a good ending with Spidey 3.

Agreed-move on w/ new villians-just one-The Lizard!

The villains for the upcoming Spider-man 4 movie are Lizard & Carnage.
Others would be Black Cat & Stan Lee cameo.
I say they should keep the Bruce Campbell cameos & have recurring cameos of Dafoe as a different character becuz technically its a reboot.

Where have they announced Carnage as a villain? The Venom character and the subplot related to it is what made Spider-Man 3 such a terrible follow up to the first two. Why ensure that the fourth movie will be bad, too?

My wife & I analyzed this storyline.
It's perfectly set up for them to introduce the nefarious HOB-Goblin!
Green 1 and green 2 have happened. Osbourne manor sits ruined and abandoned... momentarily... hidden in its depths lie the remains of the goblins' weapons and chemical crap... along comes that sneek thief (?) intent on pilfering goods and wealth... and he stumbles upon this cache of goodies...
becomming the ever orange hobgoblin.
rhino, lizard, and black cat are fair game for bit parts.

knockout pimp is full of crap. Nobody anywhere who would know a damn thing have confirmed a thing about SM4

Well it would be interesting if they did bring back Norman. But didn't he just come back as Norman for some time before he became the Goblin again? And even if they did bring him back as the Goblin please not the costume from the first movie but have him use a costume that actually looks like it belongs to a Goblin and not just a ninja on a sky stick. It would be nice to see the Lizard though and I would really like to see the Black Cat and maybe at least a breif crossover with another Marvel character, like one or all of the X-MEN or some others.

Osborne coming back would be ok... so long as they did it in a comic book way. Remember this is a comic book adaptation. Not everything must be belivable. Its the suspension of disbelief that makes comics so fun. So... Norman's return? Could be done in a couple of ways. We never saw what Harry did with the body after Spidey left. All we see next is the funeral scene and no open casket. So Harry over come with grief, calls his butler (you know that weak ass guy that thought it was a great idea to let Harry stew for a couple of years and chase spider man thinking he killed his dad). His butler having some inside info on Normans projects, calls some experts in, and they set Norman in a cryo chamber in order to clone him. Yeah I know clones bad idea, but in the comics it works, its just the thing you would see. That or the serum that he took takes a while to re-knit the damage that was done so a few years later he emerges from the chamber whole again, and looking for pay back. Or better yet, he emerges with the serum played out and no more and back to his sane self. That is until he finds out about Harry, and blames spider man, then hires a mercenary (enter Hobgoblin) or rather a whole string of mercenaries (rhino, shocker, scorpion, kraven, etc.) to hunt him down and kill him. Might be fun to make a movie without some redemption story for a change, just a good romp with a crap load of explosions, and fight scenes. I especially like the idea of a cybernetic Rhino, ala the ulitimate universe version. What ever way they decide to bring him back, just so long as he isnt in some suit chasing spider man around. Its time for that to move on to the next level. Having him be a secret mastermind seems the most logical.

Don't U just like how every body thinks I'm full of crap because I know the planned villains for Spider-man 4 are Black Cat, Carnage, & Lizard.
04-19-2008, 05:30 PM
Spider-man 4 isn't even confirmed yet, there isn't a completed script, and there is NO ONE signed on for it....let alone there be cut in stone villains.
Spider-man needs a reboot, like Batman Begins. New direct, new cast....minus J. Jonah Jameson (aka, JK Simmons), he was the best of all 3 movies. Perhaps pick up after Peter Parker gets married and he has to face the Sinister Six or something? Essentially, stop humanizing the villains and make them BAD GUYS. Jesus, Doctor Octopus was pathetic. Give me a hardcore Green Goblin who doesn't look like a power ranger.

Spider-man 4 was confirmed & the planned villains are Black Cat, Carnage & the Lizard or at least featured. Also it's technically a Reboot when when you replace directors and all of lead cast, also they plan a 2010/2011 year release date. On other news Mai choices for the upcoming Spider-man trilogy Keep JK Simmons as J. Jonah Jameson,Bruce Campbell cameos, Villains 4 trilogy: Carnage, Lizard, Scorpion, Hob Goblin, Shocker, Rhino, Kraven & Morbius. Also it would be cool if they could do the whole mutation saga.

Pimp you're on crack.
There is absolutely nothing confirmed. Nor will there likely be anything confirmed. The likelihood that we will get a 4th installment is incredibly slim. Prinicipal cast doesnt want to return, and with such a fresh property as this it would be suicidal for any film company to attempt to make this movie with the starring role having changed actors. Now with batman and superman the reboots were a success (only a mild one for the man in blue) because of the incredibly long lead time between last attempts and the current ones. This allowed audiences to essentially forget the abysmal showings and focus on the new cast and direction. With the Hulk its been a shorter time, but with the first ones horrid reception, it only made sense to start over. Yet if you really look at it closely the story isnt really starting over just continuing in a new direction.
No pimp you are simply wrong. That is unless you are the producer, director, head exec at sony, or better yet stan the man himself and this is your way to publicize the movie.

NOBODY gets it! Spider-man 4 was confirmed & have you ever heard of a REBOOT it's when the movie is another in the series but it's got nothing to do with the previous three, EX. of REBOOTS Punisher: Warzone & The Incredible Hulk. & they said there would beanother trilogy I know this becuz I use numerous websites not just this & I look stuff up on search engines.

And you believe everything the fanbois on all the sites have to say.
Well in that case...
Let me introduce myself to you, Im Jeff Blake. And as chairman of Sony Pictures I can assure you we have not confirmed anything for the future of the Spider Man franchise.
Now if you belive that you are as gullible as you seem.
Honestly, people will say anything to get people to listen to them. Most of your websites that people prop up with all kinds of outlandish claims to have the "inside" word are bogus at best and childish at worst. There are precious few sites that have developed trust worthy sources and can back up claims such as these with credibility built on a history of proven prophecies. And then, even those sites sometimes get their supposed "facts" wrong. Its a given that until sites like this one, AICN, Canmag, SHH, and a few others release it, then its just unsubstantiated rumor.
Facts are that Raimi has no interest in directing SM4, Maguire isnt interested in starring in it, and Sony doesnt want to give up the liscense yet. But however Raimi said he would produce it "maybe". And as i have stated already with product so fresh still, it would be suicide to try to recast the starring role so soon. At least the Hulk and Punisher has had 5+ years to cool down. Spider man is still a hot commodity and too many people identify with Maguire as Peter to entrust that character with another actor. As good as Jane was as Frank Castle he still didnt endear himself with the fans as the quintessential Punisher. Most would agree that Bana was only luke warm as Banner. With the new Hulk the only casting regret I can see is Gen. Ross, they should have at least kept Sam Elliot. He was better than perfect for the role. But thats niether here nor there.
Simply put just because you read it here on the net does not make it true. My best example for this is the Super Shadow phenomena. He claimed to be the inside of inside for Lucasfilm productions. He would post all kinds of supoosed spoilers for the three prequals. But with each release he was shown as a fraud. He would defend himself with the claims that Lucas himself would read his blogs and change key events in the movies to keep the movie from being spoiled.

No facts are is that this website gets its news & info from the other websites I use which are more credible than this one & more well- established. And You still don't get the concept of a reboot(ex: Batman Begins,Punisher:Warzone, The Incredible Hulk, Superman Returns) You don't need Raimi or the main cast to come back when it's a REBoot. There all replaceable!!!!!!!! & there been like a million different articles saying the Lizard is # 1 candidate for villain. Heres the problem with these forums is that everybody always bithches & complains about movies that haven'teven come out and then they bitch at others for no reason at all.
04-21-2008, 12:27 AM
No pimp you dont understand the idea. Its true you dont need the cast or crew to return for a reboot. But what you are neglecting is marketing. Movies arent made for you and I. They are made for men in 1000 dollar suits so that they can afford another 1000 dollar suit. To do this you need to make successful movies. Rebooting a movie franchise takes careful consideration of all marketing data. With that being said, Spider Man is still an incredibly sucessful commodity with its current cast and crew. To replace all of them would only serve to alienate the fan base at this point. Now if a simple average joe like me can make that connection then the guys that get paid 6 figs can certainly make that leap of logic. Alienating a fan base = poor ticket sales, cant make it more clearer than that.
Now as for your speculation of the comming villians. Its just wishful thinking on the part of all fans. Yes it has been stated by many that the Lizard is the top contender right now. Why is this you suppose? Could it be that Doc Connors has been getting more and more exposure in the films with every installment. It seems likely that he would be a shoe in, but not by any means set in stone. All it takes is one writer, director, or producer or even a combination of them to choose otherwise and viola, no lizard. Until shooting begins everything is up for negotiation, and somtimes even after it begins. In your own words, he is simply a candidate, not confirmed.
As for this site getting its news from other sites. You are absolutely right. Just take a look at the list of sites it uses though. All very reputable sites, not fan sites with a simple rumor board. Plus they dont post anything unless its confirmed. This is why I frequent this site more than others.
If you want to see what recasting will do to a franchise just look at the justice league movie. Dead isnt it? Had lots of problems, the biggest was the recasting of two principal characters. The public outcry was phenomenal. So its been dumped for the time being. Where as Marvel is setting up a known cast for preparation for an ensemble movie by haveing cross overs in their respective solo movies, and then sigining them on for the ensemble movie as part of thier contract.

Oh and unless you post references (links to other websites that support your claims) then i will not continue this discussion with you. Anything else will be considered trolling and i dont argue with trolls. My time is too precious to me for that.
04-21-2008, 11:21 AM
Spider-man 4 has NOT been confirmed in any shape or form.
04-21-2008, 03:26 PM
JLA isn't cancelled it's post poned and probably for a good thing. I'm sorry but theres just no convincing people who are just content with argueing with me so whatever, I don't go to these websites with people to argue but just to merely discuss & for links i'm not exactly sure but i' think there are a few other files on this site talking of spidey 4.
04-27-2008, 07:48 PM
For future Spider-man films #4-6 I would have the villains be Morbius, Scorpion, Lizard & Carnage. Also I would have Blade & Punisher cameos. Also I think the mutation virus would be an interesting thing to see on the big screen.
