God I hate Smallville. So, Doomsday comes and kills Clark before he ever even gets to become Superman? Brilliant.

I agree... I never got into this show... 90210 in Kansas with a touch of powers every now and then... enough already... didn't Clark graduate yet? When is he going to don the red and blue tights and start flying? Yawn...

They'd have to blow the entire season's FX budget to render Doomsday properly...so I'm calling it now...they'll get some huge slab of meat from the WWE,dress him up in fetish gear, point him at the camera and tell him to just "RAWWWRRRR!!!!" a lot,and call that Doomsday.

its really not that bad. Granted it doesn't actually make sense in the superman time-line/story. But for a TV series it works
(if you can think of it as its own entity and not of a bigger picture)

It's nice to hear comments from people that are in complete agreement with me about this horrible show. Doomsday will crush Clark faster than you can say "a speeding bullet". I mean what moron though that this would be a good idea? Instead of introducing Doomsday for the first time in live-action format in a new Superman movie, lets do it in Smallville: The soap operatic adventures of Clark Kent. It seems like every time this show airs it gives more reasons to hate it with a burning passion.

it'll be the last season,so they can go out w/ a bang and wrap up THEIR Superman story that they set out to tell. I didn't like Smallville at first-i love it now, but it's run it's course. And enough w/ the petitions to get Welling cast as Superman in this or that project-it's not gonna happen! He's great-but he doesn't want to wear the costume and shouldn't, if the whole premise of the show's run is gonna make sense. Bring on Doomsday and they'll kick the shit outta each other on TV-that will be cool. Big series finale w/ Doomsday, Brainiac, Luthor-final shot of Clark flying into the Fortress to begin training-sillohuette shot of Superman w/ cape and curl in hair-done!

i ve accepted there's absolutely no continuity with smallville and the superman universe. the producers are just pulling characters and storylines from the past 50 or so years and that's great. i like a good spin on something old every now and then, but clark fighting doomsday in his red and blue farm jacket and not the red and blue w/ cape uniform doesnt make much sense. im sure the story will be that doomsday comes from the future to kill superman before he becomes Superman. Honestly, Darkside would have been a more plausible character as well as a justifiable storyline.

Smallville was interesting when it started. I thought lex was only gonna show up here and there to kinda make clark's life miserable. i had no idea he was gonna be in every damn episode. it became...R-E-T-A-R-D-E-D. the writers created hate between clark and lex. lex hates superman, not clark! clark kent is an after thought to lex luthor. the other thing that makes me laugh is that everyone knows what clark looks like w/o glasses. what the hell is he gonna do when he becomes superman? he'll probably do something R-E-T-A-R-D-E-D!
also, the writer's couldn't even come up with one original character for clark to fight other than meteor freaks. and now doomsday is coming! HUH????? How freakin stupid is this? let's put it this way, if clark battles doomsday and defeats him one way or another, there is absolutely no reason for him to go away to the fortress and begin his training. he would have defeated his most mortal enemy years before he even lands a job at the planet, boinks lois, joins the justice league and all that other great stuff. could the the comic book version of superman have been able to defeat a creature like doomsday when he was that young? i sincerely doubt it. but somehow, smallville clark will. you'll see. it'll most likely be R-E-T-A-R-D-E-D.

Okay I have been a fan of the series for the past 7 seasons. I have overlooked all of the continuity issues with the Superman mythos and just enjoyed it for the entertainment. It helps to think of it as taking place on one of the Multiverse Earths. Well, now I am really having mixed feelings about the Doomsday introduction. I think a better alternative would be to introduce the Legion of superheroes in season 8 instead. The premise would be that Clark's history has been altered these past 7 seasons and their mission is to put his life back on the right path that will lead him to become Superman, move to Metropolis, work for the Daily Planet and meet Lois for the first time.

frankenerie-that's a great idea @ The legion! We could even then get to see Kara in her costume from the future-and the show could end w/ Clark on the farm out in the middle of nowhere like in the movies!
I decided to enjoy the show for what it is, as well-an alternate version of Superman-and like i said, I've fallen for it-but...I'm so sick of Lana and her room full of plasma screens at the Isis foundation-AND< has anyone noticed how Smallville and Metropolis keep getting closer and closer to each other??? THAT might be my biggest problem w/ the show-how quickly characters other than Clark make the 3 hr commute! Thought I heard that in an early episode-at least 2 hrs, right? Plus, how come so much activity takes place in the Daily Planet basement???
John Glover is an absolutely incredible actor and Lionel was my favorite character-sorry to see him go, but I'm sure we'll see him again in flashbacks and such. for the 8th and final season, they should just do whatever crazy stuff they want cuz it doesn't make any Superman-sense,anyway-but,it's fun to watch, well made and NOT reality TV.!
can't believe I had that much to say about Smallville :-)
IRON MAN ROCKS HARD,YOU GUYS-GO SEE IT NOW!!!!
