Hey guys, anyone using Netflix?

I've talked about it for a while, but enver wanted to commit to it. My wife took the intiative and signed me up as a Father's Day gift.

Gotta say, it's pretty cool! I've got it set to 2 movies at a time, unlimited rentals every month at $15.

The site is set to not only let you queue up movies to arrive in the order you want, but it takes your feedback and customizes recommendations for you. Very user friendlt system.

The only concern I have now is running out of things I want to rent. I am typically one to rent new releases since I don't get to the theater much, so I fear I am going to see everything I've missed and have to wait around for more stuff to come out on DVD.

Big thumbs up on the service so far though.

We've been using it for several months now and it's great. My daughter likes anime and there are several series that we've has ordered. I order one of hers and one of something that'd I'd like to see.

I wouldn't worry about running out of things to see. New stuff comes out all the time and I have even rented a few older films that I never got a chance to watch.

Netflix is fantastic. Haven't had a problem, and they have some obscure stuff to boot.

I'd recommend upping your subscription though Kaeos. An extra $3 a month gets you to three at a time. Really the only price gap they have that makes sense. Otherwise it's $10 for one, and I think like $24 for 4 at a time.

But yeah, shipping is blazingly fast, selection is great, process is easy. I'd highly recommend this to anybody here thinking about it. I've been a member over two years now.

Adam-But it got ever so much more fun when I figured out DVD burning. bwahahaha.

I considered it, my wife even suggested it after I started messing around with my queue on the site, but way my household runs, trying to keep track of 3 disks, something would invariably get lost or destroyed (2 pre-teen boys and 2 toddlers)

Happy so far, I like the ratings and the suggestions as well.

"Butterfly Effect: Directors Cut" is on the way now. :D

Rogers Video just launched a similar service in Canada. Priced the same in C$Dollars. After reading your review, I may give it a shot. N

I think they're terrible. They throttle movies even if you are on one of the higher more expencive plans. They blatantly lie about throttling as well. They are almost useless as well if you want to rent newly released films (since they only stock a small amount of the new films to save money).

There only good quality is they have some out of print movies still available.

Now, have you had a bad experience, or did you read that in a newspaper article a while ago and are passing it off here as a bad experience?

Cause, y'know, I *read* the article about "throttling" and figured "meh".

But that's just me.

Again, two years, no problems. They've even been completely cool when I've broken a couple discs, or they showed up broken in the first place.

Sorry if you really did have a bad experience.

I've had better luck with Blockbuster.com. They are both priced similarly, and even though I have a Netflix distribution center in the city I live in, Blockbuster would send their movies from Minneapolis and still beat Netflix to my Mailbox. Just my 2 cents.

Blockbuster .. They suck. Doing credit check on people just to rent movies and requiring SSN# - Na Ill pass on them every day

But Netflix, Ive been witht hem for 3 months, doing 3 - 6 movies a week and have had no issues with them at all.
