New season started last night and it cracked me up! It was very funny how they resolved the death of Dean and Hank from the end of last season. Basically, they are clones and have died 14 times already! The montage to their deaths was great! Running in the house with scissors, decapitated on their hoverbikes, etc. But the funny one was them quietly dying in their sleep and the voiceover was "Gas, it's a silent killer". :)

I loved this episode! Especially the way the main titles kept you guessing as to the fate of Hank and Dean by naming Jonas and Rusty as the Venture Bros. Truly great stuff.
Oh, and the Monarch being woken up by the half-hearted cell rape by King Gorilla who 'just couldn't get into it' because the Monarch looked too much like a woman, was absolutely priceless!

"Assassainanny" is on tonight, or if you want to see it earlier it's online. So far, it's my favorite episode. Brock, fucking, Samson. That's all I've got to say.
omicron

It definitely was another action packed episode. Nice to see a little background on Brock. It was interesting to see him as more than just a dumb brick.
Plus add in all the spy genre stereotypes and the ending homage to Apocalypse Now and Hank's Jim Morrison/The Doors act, and you've got another funny episode.

There is no part 1 which is hilarious. I loved the competition between Orpheus and Dr. Venture. The best part was Orpheus creating fire with his hands and then Dr. Venture firing back by lighting a match. The new episodes have just been hilarious.

New Venture Bros. on tonight (it's already on the Fix) called "Twenty Years to Midnight". These episodes just keep getting better and better.
"I AM THE GALACTIC GRAND INQUISTOR!!! JUST IGNORE ME!!!"
That just made me laugh...that and what's become of Johnny Quest. I keep laughing just thinking about it.

while I love this show, I feel like they are starting to take the Simpson's route. Let me explain. Later episodes of the Simpson's seem to take a plot device, and then randomly go off on tangents with no clear resolution. VB seems to do this more and more. Last week's episode really confused me. What was the chip, why did Lincoln think he was going to assasinate the Pres, etc etc.
I do like how they morphed Clinton and Bush into one over-sexed imbecile though.

The chip came from Gargantuan 1 (that's a great name for a space station!) that had imbedded itself in the back of his head in the crash. The chip had nothing to do with mind control, his mother was controlling him all the time.
Lincoln had seen The Manchurian Canidate one too many times. That's why he thought the Pres. was going to be assasinated.
They tend to go for the simpler explanations on the show.
"My Lincoln sense is tingling!!"

venture bros. is one of the best shows on tv and some more are in my opinion:
arrested developement: a great miscarriage of justice, I think A. D. got axed because ron howard directed the di vinci code and the christian right took it out on this show because they could not stop the movie.
cowboy bebop" repeat hell
samuria champloo: repeat hell
boston legal: this tues premiere
scrubs: returning october 1
reno 911: becoming a movie
smallville: not many can come to tv and survive this long, they are few and far between.

"You hit him so hard, he's got an afro now."
Damn. There is something that was seriously fucked up with this entire episode...but in a good way. I was laughing all the way through it. Blending the Scooby gang with the SLA (the guys that kidnapped Patty Hearst) had me laughing my ass off.
There was something that felt strangely familiar about the comedy and the writing, and I found out what it was....Ben Edlund had written the episode. Edlund is responsible for The Tick. The comic book, then the animated and live action shows. He's also responsible for the puppet episode of "Angel", and he's a producer on "Supernatural". Basically, one of my favorite people in the industry.
If you guys haven't seen this weeks episode, go see it on the Fix at Adult Swim right now. Just wrong on so many levels.

I was kind of hoping that they would kill Hank and Dean at the end of this season too. That was a cool two way to end the season. I think this season was better than the first one since all of the characters seemed to have more focus behind them plus we saw some cooler minor characters added to the mix. I hope there is a season 3 and I can't wait for it if there is.

Omi
Dean was hallucinating because he was trapped, and under stress, so he created a dream world to feel safe in. Like Brock said at the end of the credits when Dean is riding on top of the jet, "He does this all the time. Pretty soon he'll pass out, and we'll go up and get him."

So last week or the week before I was doing a little searching on the Venture Bros. because I really dig the show. I found out a neat little tid bit of information about the creators of the show...they've all worked with Ben Edlund on the animated Tick series of the early 1990's.
That's where that really twisted sense of humor that I like so much comes from. Very cool info.

I didnt think there was an iota of consistency on Venture Brothers, it not like figuring out they're clones would change anything, they're still gonna die, get ressurected again with all their memories intact.
i think I'm a vew episodes from the end... i've been watching the series on Demand but they arent consistant in uploading them.
DaForce

Not a spoiler, since it came out at the beginning of Season 2 that the boys were clones.
There's actually quite a bit of consistency with the Venture universe, BUT you have to watch the episodes in order to actually see that. Comcast On Demand is probably the worst way to watch this series.
Finally, since this is a spoiler for anyone that hasn't watched the Season 3 finale:
Once O.S.I. discovered that Dr. Venture had an illegal clone farm on the compound, they are bound to shut it down. That means that the current versions of Hank and Dean are more than likely the last versions...if OSI has anything to say about it.

SPOILER ALERT! SPOILER ALERT! SPOILER ALERT!
I'm assuming that you've seen the new season here, if not then don't read this. In the first episode of the new season "Shadowman 9: In the Cradle of Destiny" some of these questions are answered. In the opening seconds of the episode Monach says to Dr. Girlfriend something like "You know when you said you had something to tell this is the last thing I expected". Then it is revealed that they are going through the guild trials. To be honest that confused me when I saw it and after trying to figure out what it meant and then giving up trying to figure out what it meant I just looked it up online: "Dr. Girlfriend stated in the first episode of season 3 that she had made a promise to the Guild to force the Monarch to stop arching Dr Venture in exchange for agreeing to marry him. However, the secret is never stated explicitly to the audience.". This is from wikipedia. It being from wikipedia I just wanted to get some confirmation on this. It fits with what transpired but I don't understand why Dr. Girlfriend would need the guild's permission to marry the Monarch. In the coda of this same episode the Phantom Limb reappears to kill Manotaur, obviously having survived although I would assume he is in hiding after doublecrossing the guild. What happened to the Human Torch bothered me for awhile too. There are only two places he could be either somewhere in Prof. Impossible's complex or Dr Venture Jr.'s complex. They probablly just threw him in a broom closet. But the reality of it is since he can never leave his cryo-bed or he'll burst into flames and is alseep the whole time. It really doesn't matter all that much.
And this one I'll throwin for free cuz it bothered me almost forever:
Return to SPiderskull Island: This episode originally ran long and Jackson Publick accidentally cut a sequence which explained several key parts of the episode. The Venture family is commissioned to solve a ghost (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ghost)-case at a showing of The Rocky Horror Picture Show (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Rocky_Horror_Picture_Show), when Brock attacks and injures almost everyone in the theater. This explains the injuries in the emergency room as well as the panic when everyone sees Brock (dressed as Rocky). In an attempt to fix this, Publick added in a 9-1-1 (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/9-1-1) call that can be heard during the opening sequence. In addition, the title sequence was extremely shortened
Again this is from wikipedia.
